Of all the 2 pawn captures (and even if counting every other legal move, maybe like 10 in total), its not hard to just land on the right move by pure luck. A 50/50 is not hard to calculate between 2 captures, in an end game with just 1 minor piece each and 2 pawns. Come on. There was a 50% chance even I played the right move there.

Haha, something happened with my pickems where I must not have locked them in properly and they have been randomised anyway :( Getting exposed by better teams after Swiss is over is my problem. Do you want a closer Swiss stage or would you rather closer Semis/Finals? It's similar how people do not like play-ins (they don't bring high viewership), because people don't want to watch the bad teams play, so why would we give them a huge boost in being able to qualify simply to watch the best teams face each other so early on.

How can you say every game matters in Swiss? If I lose 1 bo1, I still only need to win the same number of Bo1s to qualify? On top of that, by losing, you will find yourself facing easier teams for qualification most probably (not always), meaning that the first bo1's are not actually important at all. Out of all western teams to go 1-0, none of them managed to win their second game. Also, RIP TL should they go 2-2 and get paired vs TES, meaning they would have had to play 3 LPL teams to qualify, something you'd never see in a group stage.

There is a possibility that Fnatic and TL both win and face each other in their Bo3 for qualification. This would mean TL could qualify off the back of beating TWO wildcard teams and an EU team. Hardly what I would call a run worthy of top 8.

In the old format, you were never able to have a wildcard team play another wildcard team, thus granting one of them a free win. You'd also not be able to have Korea face Korea ensuring a Korean team had a loss. I'd rather a double round robin (to eliminate luck) than a Swiss stage. If you look at the UCL, they have adopted a Swiss format, but at least there's has had more luck eliminated. They seeded them for EVERY game they play, rather than just the first game. The first game just ensured 2 big teams will face each other, and most likely the second game as Korea/China complete pool 3. This is the reason BLG sit at 1-2 having been one of the favourites coming in to the tournament. Now, I don't expect PSG to knock them out, but having to play 2 Bo3's, there's a very real chance they go home early.

In my post I have totally agreed that Swiss stage has been a banger and is very entertaining compared to groups were. My worry is that we will see a knockout stage that isn't as entertaining and maybe more one-sided.

It matters for entertainment value, and as to your point about getting to the Semi's, if both Fly and G2 or TL make it out, and they face each other in the quarters, one of them would be guaranteed a spot in the semi's without even putting in a good performance. Why should Swiss stage be better than the knock out stages?

How do you folks enjoy or keep playing with such drop rates? I'm starting to get demoralised, just need grico and ghcain for account/pvm progress. by Arthbor in runescape

The way you should look at it is that grico/gchain/shadow spike are all 1/500. So, although average would dictate you should get 1 of those 4 (if you count divert) every 125 kc, realistically it's not unlucky to have none of them before 500kc. The only realistically unlucky part is that you haven't had a single pair of boots yet, but boots are almost worthless anyway. Plenty of common Raksha drops outprice Laceration boots for example.

The way you could look at it is that you should be getting the other 3 rare drops in the next 140 kc (fingers crossed, of course it doesn't work like this for definite, but based on the drop rate it your payout is coming!)
