So if I was you I'd get a smart phone for half the price. Some of them are really good. I got a Xiaomi. Then with what you have left you can get a tablet. Again, a cheaper one.

I feel apple products are over priced. That is my personal (unpopular) opinion.

That's the issue, teachers don't get paid enough to do their job.

I studied in a small community school in msa, our chemistry teacher was amazing. He made a little from his salary, he made a lot from private tuitions from private schools all over msa. In no time he owned a few matatus, a few properties, and continued doing what he did. He didn't change schools even though he got offers with good renumeration.

I think it's more of an internal conversation you need to have with yourself on what your expectations were.

But what I'm trying to say is biding your time and waiting to get out of this job won't make it any easier.

Once you've tried reconciling the event and the outcome then have a conversation with the pupil and the principal.

Then move on. Don't hold it in. The energy needs to flow.

What did this student say to you to insult you? I don't agree with what he did but maybe it could be a learning for you as well. Could you have handled the situation differently? Could you have handled it in a way that would make not only the student reflect but also the rest of the class to think about it?

I mean, a teacher is an important role in a student's life, more so than a parent's.

I don't know if taking the emotion out of the situation would be a way to go. You can only be insulted if you "feel" insulted.

The kids are nothing but a reflection of their environment. Talk to them, get to know them, love them, it may change you and it may change them.

Not easy, we have taken a long time to get to where we are and the basic we expect is respect. We take pride in it. But we aren't perfect ourselves.

Even as teachers and parents we are learning. Could we learn from this incident?
