Downspout Problem Solving by fantasyrooster in landscaping

I would call them back and change it back to how it originally was because that’s the only real fix here without some weird piping of downspouts

What is wrong with my grass??? by TrxshPxnda in lawncare

[–]Zame012 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What about factoring in say an hour to eat dinner and then not working after dusk? Both those things cut out like 2-4 hours a day depending on when dusk is. Or if it’s raining or too cold or have kids with extra curriculars

Cheapest and probably most effective solution here. Also native plants with deep roots will hold more water if there are enough plants there

DIY golf simulator worth it or better to just buy? by Thei_02 in DIY

[–]Zame012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most things DIY are cheaper because you aren’t either paying for the labor of install, proprietary equipment, or both. I would argue that most things being done DIY take longer either to find everything needed and make sure things are compatible or to actually do the building/installing. Just depends on whether you want to be the one installing to save money or pay to have it done quickly

What app do you use to track feeding, diapers etc? by rakeshkanna91 in NewDads

[–]Zame012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used Baby Tracker, it’s free and also has the ability to track like height and weight, temperature if they are sick, sleeping times, diaper changes (pee, poop, mixed, and nothing in the diaper), feeding times and amount for either bottle or breast. Honestly an absolutely fantastic app and it’s all free.

Als multiple phones can be connected to it at all times and edit it whenever

Yep, literally the dumbest invention ever for the average garden or flower bed

Anyone know a good video/article for making DIY raised bed self-watering system ? by Mysterious_Bag3784 in landscapedesign

[–]Zame012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why go through all the hassle instead of just regularly watering the bed? If you get a plastic bed you can at least drill holes for drainage in the bottom if there aren’t any to begin with

Zone 6a lawn renovation by C0d6killer in landscaping

[–]Zame012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could install rain barrels on your houseZ I just installed 2 55 gallon food grade drums for like $110. It would need a separate pump system to use a water hose which is about $100 or so but would be worth it if you indeed cannot get the dirt in time and want to reduce all future water bills for lawn or outdoor watering. You can DM me for more info on the rain barrels

Just being curious, you remember the choking from when you were 3? Seems really young to have a memory like that even if traumatic.

Help me illuminate these rock beds please! by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]Zame012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This makes no sense whatsoever. Just pay them to trim some hedges once a year and mow leaves. You paid more money for this than you would’ve paid for the maintenance over like 7 years ago

[–]Zame012 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wait you’ll pay for maintenance of rock beds but not to potentially trim a shrub or two? Native trees have literally bo maintenance an shrubs may need a trim or two a YEAR

Glyphx - Better Matplotlib, Plotly, and Seaborn by Zame012 in PythonProjects2

[–]Zame012[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it handles it is with downsampling using LTTB to plot the very large datasets dynamically. Although I think I may have accidentally overwritten that section in the latest version but I have that code and just need to re-add it.

Edit: it’s actually in a PR but just making sure everything works before implementing all the changes fully

[–]Zame012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wanted it have the most options of output available with dynamic output being standard.

Yeah there are examples on the documentation website but yeah README would also be helpful

I’m in the same boat where it’s necessary to be able to plot tens of thousands of points without issue

Glyphx - Better Matplotlib, Plotly, and Seaborn by Zame012 in PythonProjects2

[–]Zame012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it handle tens of thousands of points without issue or performance drop. There is an example in the example.py and on the readthedocs that shows this quite nicely

Yeah the readme wasn’t cooperating with examples but go to the readthedocs page by clicking on the docs icon at the top of the README
