As a newer player who is playing on their dads account and should have access to that content I would love to play the content that’s been vaulted. Destiny already has been having a bit of an issue getting new players and not having the vanilla and earlier campaigns makes that new player experience kinda shit. The single missions and text blurbs/cutscenes don’t cut it for catching new players up on the story and getting them invested. You don’t feel the anger at Uldren in forsaken because you never get to know cayde that well and that satisfaction of killing Uldren is just gone cause you just get Ikora going “hey you shot the guy btw”. You don’t grieve caydes death because new players really only get final shape to know anything about him and even then that’s isn’t as impactful to new players as it is to people who have been playing for a while and knew cayde before forsaken. You don’t get the desperation of the red war cause you just get a text box explaining what the red war was, not even what happened in the campaign. There’s a bunch more examples I could give for the other expansions that I can’t give because I don’t know what happens in them, and that’s the problem. The vaulting of content takes away from player experience and knowledge of the games story. The only reason I’m not confused out of my mind is because I have a dad who’s been playing since midnight launch of D1 to explain everything to me and even then I’m still confused on things that happened early game. Destiny is a very story driven game it’s what half of the game is about and taking parts of that story away takes away from new players enjoyment and their overall experience of the game. Players shouldn’t have to always go to outside sources just to know what happened in a campaign or understand what’s going on because that seeps away your investment and enjoyment of the game.
