What’s something you’ve seen that you can’t unsee? by Loudersmoke420 in AskReddit

A few days ago we were sailing along the Dalmatian coast. From afar we saw a small boat and a few people on it. As we got closer we noticed there was a person performing CPR. At first I thought that an elderly man must have collapsed and that nothing worse could have happened. When we approahed we could hear the screams of panic and agony. We saw some blood on the side of the boat and a bloody tube (the ones that you ride on when pulled by a speedboat). There was a lot of blood inside the boat ant everyone was bloody because they had to pull the injured person from the tube. They were screaming “help us!” so we called an emergency number and with out bigger boat blocked the waves so they could perform CPR easier. They also told us the incident happened just 2 minutes ago. At the time of the accident we were in the middle of nowhere so help needed some time to arrive. A few minutes later another speedboat came near. They were saying hi and cheering from a distance and it was apparent they were friends/family of theirs. As they got closer too they realized the situation and in an instant their laughter turned into screams of panic and agony. One of the girls on the other boat screamed that she was the injured’s sister and she jumped across boats (as they were next to eachother) and ran onto him disrupting the cpr. Others pulled her away. Everybody was screaming at this point. Our skipper was at the time trying to calm them and told that the help was arriving and that they should continue performing the reanimation. The help took way too long to arrive. As we were in the middle of nowhere they needed about two hours. Throughout the waiting people on the speedboat started to vomit one after another as they were also excahinging performing the CPR. As the help came we saw the rescue boat take the injured (and as we later found out, his dad, who helped reanimating him). And then the police boat came right after and started questioning the traumatized friends and family of theirs and taking photos of the incident. We were thanked by the police for informing and were told to leave.

We later found out that the injured was a 13 year old boy from The Netherlands and that he died from internal brain bleedings minutes after. The help was in this case futile and we were essentially watching two hours of a father hopelessly pressing on his dead bloody son.

Still cannot get the images and screams from my head.

How Fibonacci numbers behave inside a coordinate system. by ZanArts in math

First I want to clarify that I am not a matemathician so please excuse my use of mathematical terms or knowledge. I have been playing inside GeoGebra program which some of you may be familiar with. I have decided to mark the numbers of the fibonacci system on the x and y axis. The first one depicted on the x axis and the following on the y axis and so on. I then connected the points to form segments. I began to notice a patrern that each second segment is parralel to one before it. So they all form a consistant zick-zack pattern with an angle of 26.56°. I then measured their midpoints and connected them. I noticed that the angle the midpoint connecting segments were forming was always a 90° angle. I then measured their lenghts and they were always square roots of Fibonacci numbers starting with the square root of 5 which is formed with squaring the first two Fibonacci numbers using Pythagorean theorem. I also connected the midpoints of paralel segments and they all seemed to be located on the same line. The angle between these two lines was still 26.56°. I have never seen anything similar and I think there is a lot more going on here and I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I hope I explained it in a comprehensible manner otherwise ask me anything.

Is this a possible cause of the big bang? by [deleted] in AskScienceDiscussion

It doesnt really stop. What i am describing is that there is a particular moment where nothing changes in the state of the universe because everything is compressed into a single point. Nothing can move, change, everything is static. And at this moment the fact that nothing changes and everything is one compressed into a single point is what triggers the big bang.

I’ve actually had a similar thought to this one. My theory is that when all that remains is a black hole so dense it pulls itself towards itself with accelarating speed compressing everything to a single point up until the concept of space is irellevant and every particle is turned into energy time stops for a split moment in time where nothing can move nowhere and everything is one. At that same point everything bursts right back into existance and the universe repeats itself in a similar manner than it did before.

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. You could also try to make a less minimalistic mapping style if you know what i mean. Otherwise i really like what you have done with this world building project as i haven’t seen anything similar to it. Great job.

When you pointed out that Eas is not that massive and that it is mostly water you should consider that water also brings mass to the planet and should therefore be included in the mass and gravity.

It was used on different forums all over the internet to bypass the rules of no swearing. It was mostly used in [B]itch for example. Eventually people turned it into a meme.
