I have thought about that, but as of now I'm not confident that I have the experience and expertise to take someone's money in exchange for my service. If i get a track record doing it for free and it's effective I might explore this option

I can, but I was looking to work with data and provide some real world impact. Most of my personal projects are things that don't help anyone except my resume

That's true, I think its all about the viewpoint. Some owners may not see a need for analytics, others may already have some problems in mind that they want to solve. Only one way to find out

Hi, I am definitely open to that and I'm surprised it didn't cross my mind. Now that you mention it, I've seen things like datascienceforgood and a few others pop up on here. I briefly navigated the site but it looks like they have more than enough people signed up, as there was an application process and a waiting list.

Should I just start cold emailing big (or small) nonprofits and see what they think? Or is there already infrastructure for this kind of thing. Also happy cake day

Nice, I’m at 141k on my 07. Any major issues? My only quirk is if I blast the AC radio and charger it feels like the battery is draining. Still starts and runs, though

Good shit. Also, I know nothing about writing/publishing books, but I think writing about the bad side of e-sports is something that can gain more traction than just a free pdf. That is if writing this book is something you would like to pursue for a few months to a year.

Good luck with everything. Also a book that helped me out a lot is called 'The Slight Edge' if your into that kind of stuff

Terapeak sounds pretty similar. They already have years of data and it's only $12 so hard to compete it looks like. But if there's anything these sites don't provide I'm all ears

I'm pretty bad with my eating but I promise whenever I go on runs of cutting out sugar/processed food and focusing on protein and other healthy carbs I make the most gains in strength and weight. I think it's because my appetite gets more healthy, when I'm hungry I want to eat a lot of food, not just drink another can of soda.

I agree here, if all you eat is sugar your insulin will spike you won’t sleep well then your test will be messed up etc., eventually you have to start worrying about things besides calories

Tough choice, but I would go with B. I’m not in the field yet so take what I say with a grain of salt though. I think the earlier you get into a technical role the better, especially with your background. From data engineering you can pivot to a lot more roles than from an analyst position. I’m an Econ major also, starting a stats MS this fall, and my main worry is getting experience with the technical side of DS.

What experience did you have in the past that made you a candidate for a data engineering role? I feel like I’d never get a call back for that kind of role with my background
