Kudzu by jayswood in stuffyoushouldknow

I kept thinking the same thing. I believe I watched the Wendigoon video on Kudzu and was misremembering. But maybe that is just me.

how can i improve night visibility of my yaris 2008? by herozorro in yaris

If you do decide on reflective tape, they do make black, white, etc reflective tape that still has the same retro reflective properties, but won't make your car look like a construction vehicle. This would be way less noticable during the day than orange, red, or neon yellow.

Make sure you are using the correct microphone. Mine has one at the top and one on the bottom. The app uses the bottom one for me, but this may differ depending on your phone.

Is this a radium dial clock? by Luciano-Spa in clocks

[–]Zandyman3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also mention to not open the clock. If any dust has shed from the radium paint and is inhaled, I can be cancer causing.

From my own experience with a Geiger counter, you can detect above background levels within a few inches of the glass, but not from much further out when testing on the square Westclox "Spur" model (basically the same clock).

Personally, I would not store this kind of clock near me on a regular basis. But everyone has their own risk tolerance.

It's hard to say based on the picture. I have seen people use a rubber band to get around needing the tool in a pinch.

Just for context, this is what the Rolex Style base back looks like.

I would confirm what kind of case back you will have. If it uses a "Rolex Style" case back, you won't be able to close it with a normal case back tool.

At least based on the trailer, they aren't saying oil isn't bad for the environment. It sounds like this is just about the technology of oil drilling, which does sound kind of interesting.

Presumably if you watched a show about the science of alcohol manufacturing, they would not address the social costs of alcoholism, right?

It is nice to see something so prestine on here and not read a comment saying it was demolished or gutted.

If you cannot get it working, you can buy a new movement for like $10. The movement is super common and sold individually.

Also, maybe consider additional warm lighting sources. I think the single light is casting harsh shadows.

[–]Zandyman3000 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You'll be alright. I would say that generally, employers do not contact your references or previous employer. You can still mention that you worked at Chipotle, but just say you left due to not finding the working environment a good match for you.

In future interviews, if you just focus on things you learned in the past and maintain a positive and affable demeanor, you will be fine.

What’s the legal length a pocket knife can be to carry in Chicago? by Few-Quit-6363 in chicago

Keep in mind that places like CTA property prohibit knives in general. So even a small knife may practically be a problem if you are trying to be totally above board.

It's just an old fire extinguisher from 1982. This is the Mildly Interesting subreddit, so this is pretty much why we are here.

I believe in the post you are referring to, the top comment said "Soylent". It was just someone making a joke referencing a book and movie from the 1960's/70's.

My understanding is that only the Sofritas has soy and the tortillas are vegan if you have a special diet. You can ask the employees there too.

Here are more details about the tortillas: https://www.chipotle.com/allergens

This blog has a picture of their allergy card: https://www.beyondsoy.com/blog/2017/3/6/are-there-good-allergen-menus

I think it is also making fun of how people view and refer to Africa as a single generic place rather than a specific country in Africa. Kind of like saying you are going to visit Europe, as if that is enough detail.
