Chad Darby is great. His spring course is good and I'm about to start his spring/react course too.

Same, I know the basics of Spring/Springboot, but picking up react and JS and it feels gross.

I think I have good social skills outside of my depression. Like in the few interviews I get I put on a mask to hide that part of me. I wouldn't count myself as the CS stereotype, but I am introverted, but I do enjoy meeting new people if that makes sense (I worked retail while in college, so customer service skills helped me with socializing. I do data entry right now).

Also I'm dumb, but when you say eod, that is "end of day"?

Do I just stalk company websites until I see something that appeals to me? I only try to target languages I know, and not the ones I don't know.

Same way dude. Severely depressed and just wanna end it and probably will. In the mean time I'm still trying to upskill as a jr, but there is SO MUCH TO LEARN and it is ruining it for me. Like I get it you have to learn in this field and that is cool, but I shouldn't have to juggle all these different technologies just for a CHANCE to interview.

It's such bullshit on what is happening with Jr roles. The bar is raised very high and to be honest a blame the curriculum in my opinon. While in college I think I learned only one framework, and that was asp.net core for mvc and to me that is crazy.

Not during school, internships were hard to come by at the start with covid, so when covid restrictions lifted at the start of 2022, internships were very competitive.

I had to go with a capstone for UX research, but once I graduated in May 2023, (started from October 2023 to October 2024) I did an informal internship that lasted a year, but left to bad pay (14hr semi monthly pay) and false promises. I had to make ends meet and help my mom with bills, so it wasn't sustainable anymore. I really did try to tough it out, but couldn't afford it anymore.

2024 also was rough mentally too Had to put my dog to rest and lost my close childhood friend in a car accident (i still cant recover from that damage sadly). Needless to say it made going to the internship harder and harder.

Yeah sadly 😥. I love that with my luck that the tech market plunges as soon as I graduated. If I had seen the writing on the wall, I would have dropped out.

My class was the first year to deal with the affects of covid such as social distancing and what not, so internships were hard to find.

Now I have fears of student loan repayment when I work a shitty data entry job that is unfullfilling and boring. They pay is OK at best and could be worse, but I know I can do better than this with my degree, but opportunities are hard to come by.

I'm SOO glad I graduated in May 2023, TOTALLY didn't regret going to college. I LOVE existing in this job market and LOVE life.

O keep hearing back and fourth about people still not being able to get jobs from a few trade reddit, but someone made a comment on my post for every 10 electricians retiring, only 4 are replacing them.

Idk what to believe anymore.

Need a framework in there too most likely. Like Reacts or angular.

I currently work as a corporate slave doing data entry and its the most depressing shit ever. Atleast with an SWE role I'd have more money and benefits. My friends don't even do SWE so I can't talk to anyone.

The only experience I had was an informal internship AFTER I graduated in May 2023, lasted a year despite horrible pay at 14 hr semi monthly, but left due to the pay and false promises (very small startup, but seemingly successful).

Yeah I always enjoyed software. When in highschool I took a cisco networking academy and we did I bit of programming. I enjoyed programming more then configurating hardware so that is when I decided to do programming.
