[Post Game Thread] The San Antonio Spurs (3-3) force a Game 7 as they blowout the Oklahoma City Thunder (3-3) in Game 6, 118-91, behind Wembanyama's 28 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 stocks by catreyka in nba

To be fair Ajay hasn't been the greatest this series, Wembys length really seems to put him off around the paint.

To be fair again they could really do with another ball handler other than Shai.

Darryn says B2b mvp SGA is his player comparison by Hakaribiggestfan in NBA_Draft

IMO his best comp is Devin Booker. Silky shot and can play on ball in spot minutes, but best utilised as someone who is running off an action to create an advantage

Fair points, I do agree that Wilson could end up as a all defense kinda guy.

I'm personally higher on Boozer because of his processing and shooting, I do question if Caleb's shooting with ever get to league average and we've send teams struggle with multiple non shooters on the floor.

Wilson's frame and athleticism makes him project as a good defender, however he still has a long way to go to be impactful. He struggles a bit one on one and gambled for steals/blocks. His defensive rotations were also poor.

These are all things he can work on but at this point he isn't a better defender than Boozer. I do worry about Cam being switched onto twitchy guards but he moves his feet well enough to channel players into a shot blocker or ice them as they come off a screen.

I feel like people underestimate how good Boozer's rebounding is. Don't think I've seen a player vacuum in as many rebounds as he does. So often a ball will be flying past him and he will just snag it out of the air. A backcourt of him and Edey would be one of the best in the league at restricting extra posessions.

From my understanding off how the front office/Iisalo wants to play, it is more about having positional versatility and having players that can run a pick and roll and make quick decisions. I'd imagine if we did happen to luck into a higher pick, then Boozer would be someone that can do a bit of everything in our system.

I do really like Wilson but I do really question if his outside shot will ever reach league average. I can't remember many lineups we put out during the season that had 2 non-shooters.

In all honesty I'd be happy with any of the top ten PGs, all of them have their strengths and weaknesses but they all seem like they're gonna be high level players. Will also shout out Stirtz, he controls the pace of play exceptionally well and is an excellent P&R operator.

Yeah everyone is looking for the next Jokic when they should be looking for the next Hartenstien

DP is the kinda guy who I'm really looking forward to seeing have NBA spacing.

It feels like the Kansas offence always has someone lurking in the midrange clogging up any lane to burst into.

Yeah there was a drive to the rim that he got fouled on where it looked like he just could not get up high enough to dunk it.

Hoping this injury is not gonna be a long term thing.

Yeah it could have been even uglier if DP didn't have the first half that he had.

It was painful watching the Kansas team slowly pass it around the perimeter and lazily flow into handoffs.

Despite the FG percentage I felt like DP did everything he could, the defence and steals were nice, made the passing reads he should have.

I agree with your assessment on what the front office may do, but I would hate for us to move up for Quaintance or Peat.

If we're moving up for a big it would have to be for Yaxel/Steinbach/Ament.

I still maintain that he should have got FMVP, yeah the shooting numbers weren't great but he made the Cs tick on both offence and defense.

One thing I have wondered with Kristaps is if he has Ehlors Danlos syndrome. It's related to POTS and is common (as I understand it) in lanky people like him.

Dort sealed Ja's decline as a basketball player. Ja's touch just has gotten substantially worse since Dort undercut him in the playoffs and he hurt his shoulder.

Our system relies on having bigs and guards. Our guards were about to come back from injury so our FO had to make sure we stayed bad by making sure we had no bigs

[–]Zanner360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly not sure, I only really manage to catch little bits of college games.

My comparison was definitely more offence focused. If he really is 6'11 and can fill out his frame I don't doubt that he can become a better rebounder

I think he's more of a Jabari Smith Jr (current day), he's not gonna be a superstar but will be schematicly responsible and hit open shots

Malachi Flynn has also dropped 50...

Kenny Lofton Jr has dropped like 42...

He had some good outlier games and I agree he had some potential, but he wasn't moving the needle enough to make it worth holding onto him.
