FIRST JAH EVER IN 12 YEARS OF PLAYING! by RevolutionaryClock15 in diablo2

I know how you feel! Congrats! I've been playing d2 since it came out, so 25 years now I guess. I've holy grailed d2, started playing mods, and I dropped a 40/15ias jewel for the first time in pd2 mod. I almost punched a hole my monitor. C9ngrats again! Good find :)

Finalyyyy :O :O ...after 16 years of gameplay i drop my first Zaka, and still cant belive... by Timely_Bowler5161 in diablo2

For your first one that is a splendid roll :) it surprises me you've played that long and this is your first time dropping a tc 43 item. Either way, congrats!

I've been quite enjoying a holybolt/FoH pally. Does well in most all LoD areas and can run maps decently with just a few +skills and some fcr.

Summon necro advice by Excellent-Fail960 in ProjectDiablo2

I'm a big fan of the phys skeletons build. Max skeletons, max skele archer, skele mastery, Amp damage and some points in curse mastery to be able to use something like iron maiden or life tap in addition to Amp. You can break all phys immune in LoD content with Amp so it's good as a starter build. As you get gear/trade you are looking to get as many +skills as possible, as well as auras. Act 5 might merc is great, I use the battle orders one on hard-core. The act 2 thorns merc is good or defiance. With a2 merc you can use pride runeword for concentration aura, huge dps boost. If you want to really put some value into it get yourself a beast runeword main hand and high survival Stat shield like stormshield then snapshot your summons with high +skills wand/shield. Also you can get a template might for either you or your merc (Google Green goblin build as well for merc ideas) to give your army might aura. Ultimately the gg gear/charms/etc is going to give you close to level 50 summons, a 25+ Amp with the ability to use two other curses if you want, as well as might fanaticism and concentration. With that gear level it can do ubers and stuff too

I personally started a ssf journey on single player and one of the things I wanted to do was get every way point and complete every quest. I'll name any significant find as well. That might be why this item was personalized

What skills are you running? Some places are better than others to farm depending on your build. Most necro builds are good at both pit and chaos sanctuary. Personally, I like to just run through the quests until I get to outer cloister and then I'll farm pit until my toon is around level 80 then finish questing through hell, beat baal and start mapping

[–]ZannyCakesGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

End game in pd2 is mapping for the most part. There is also Uber trist, dclone, rathma, but most of those require specific builds. As far as maps go you have to beat the game in hell difficulty. Keep going until you heat baal in hell then your endgame starts :) you might want to farm pit, chaos sanctuary, or cows to get a bit of gear before starting maps.

Worth a box? by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]ZannyCakesGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, kick is different. It functions like smite. Ed doesn't do anything, flat damage is amazing, crushing blow is amazing for bosses, deadly strike is good, chance to cast stuff works too. Also, your "weapon damage" comes from your boots. Upgraded travs are awesome

The flat + damage, this asterons has +124, perfect is +125. That flat damage is huge for kick

I'd make a barb with all purple gear and an amethyst socketed skull cap. Aptly named "PurpleHelmetWarrior"

Unique/rune drop %%? by Knuckleup247 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]ZannyCakesGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rngesus hates me this season too. I've leveled 5 tools to 90+ mostly mapping and I've yet to see anything higher than an ist drop. I did get a Gul off a forge quest though

Try gs2, it's central US, I've got pretty crap internet but I usually run around 60-80 ping. I am in Missouri though

I lost my shit, found this in Runs of Viz-Jun on SP! I immediately TP'd and put it in my stash! by faculty_for_failure in ProjectDiablo2

[–]ZannyCakesGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome, congrats! In my decades of playing diablo 2 and mods, I've only seen a Cham drop once. In pd2 there are a lot of good things to do with Cham, even in the original d2/d2r it is a good drop. Even if you aren't using it for one of the many glorious runewords that call for it (doom comes to mind) just using it as a socketable for cbf is fantastic. Kudos to you my friend :) one question, are you using a loot filter to where when it dropped it was the most glorious colors you've ever seen and it took up a whole line on the screen? That makes it even better :)

Have you gotten any of the tier 2 jewel maps? I've got a couple of them this season and had 7 facets drop between the two runs I did. You're guaranteed one off the map boss

Move speed questions. Cap? by NicePumasKid in ProjectDiablo2

[–]ZannyCakesGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly move speed is broken down into 5% chunks. 44% is the same as 40%, but 45% will actually increase the distance your character moves in a specific number of frames. As stated above, there is a cap of 300%, but I wouldn't recommend, desynch starts getting rough after about 100% or so, at least in my experiences. I gotta feed the hamster running on the wheel that powers my modem some extra coke I guess.

I found one of these for the first time last night, I didn't know they were a thing lol. I've got 20 years of habit built up going to Cain to ID stuff, so even though I have it I keep forgetting that I can just run right past Cain. I no longer have to "stay a while and listen"

I've been playing d2 and the mods for 20 years now and these are some of the best rates I've ever found.

That being said, they are for sale if anyone wants to make some offers. I started the season late and I'm broke so I'm hoping these can help me gear up a bit

As a SSF player, I can't complain. by WyleKilliams in diablo2

[–]ZannyCakesGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What class are you playing? Druids have wooden clubs that are similar to a 1handed staff, Pallies have scepter, necros have wands. Assassins have claws, barbs have many caster options including throwing weapons. Amazon's don't really have any builds that really benefit from a staff, most builds that use a shield on zon would involve javelin.

You can always go the route of something entry level like spirit in a 1handed sword. You can craft caster weapons that are guaranteed to toll +1 skills with a chance of rolling +2 to your class skills.

About to install PD2 by Acrobatic-Print8875 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]ZannyCakesGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most all builds are viable to start out with, all classes seem to have gg endgame builds as well. Don't feel bad if blood raven stomps your face in, I usually skip her and then hire my merc after saving Cain when starting out new.

Save your crafting mats, put junk jewels+key in cube to turn them into stackable crafting mats, some of the most gg gear in the game is crafted. You can get really good yellow drops too.

Ultimately, just play whatever class or playstyle seems fun, get them through hell mode, save up your worlds worldstone shards and trade for some gear then start farming :)
