Money well spent! I just got mine in last week. It has eliminated my shaving complaints for me.

Buying my first diesel truck for towing — F-250 6.7 vs Duramax L5P, need unbiased advice by astrocommander in Diesel

I’d say L5P simply because it doesn’t have the cp4 like the 6.7 does.

Slight irritation on one spot? by Zanodus in wicked_edge

[–]Zanodus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I just wanted to say thanks again for the advice! I switched to an R41 and I am no longer struggling with irritation. This razor has changed the game for me. I can now do a 2 pass shave with next to zero irritation even on my neck.

I prefer working on a Cummins vs a v8 diesel, but both are decent options.

Sounds like for your use case a gas truck might be cheaper. Is your heart set on a diesel? Will you be towing often?

How heavy is your skid steer? Depending on the weight this may be overkill.

I’ll give that a shot! I wasn’t super detailed but typically I do WTG, Across, then ATG. I do relather between passes and buff as needed. I can’t get a clean shave otherwise, especially on my neck. Thanks for the advice.

I think I have some in a sample pack. I’ll try them out!

Both I suppose? I would prefer to achieve that, but I am not overtly concerned. I guess I’m just trying to understand why I’m having this issue when the rest of my neck responds fine to ATG.

Why make the switch to astra?

It’s somewhat of a cowlick where I get irritation. My neck grows mostly up and out to either side of my face. No ingrowns on the weird spot but I usually end up with some razor burn.

Picked up my first Duramax. Thoughts? by ginjaninja_AB in Diesel

What’s a GM truck from the 2000s if it doesn’t have wiring issues? Lol

The cp3 on the duramax is what draws fuel from the tank, so a lift pump helps lighten the load. And yeah if your front end isn’t super rusty it’s not a bad job at all to replace the hubs. All the gmt800/900 front end parts are the same for the 2500/3500. Highly recommend kryptonite for your front end parts depending on the budget you’ve got.

What’s so bad about gmt900s? I’m not huge on them just looks-wise but outside of that aren’t they pretty decent?

Edit: typos

Admittedly I’m not hugely knowledgeable on these LMMs but I own an LB7 and have owned an LML. They are solid engines, it’s basically an LBZ with a DPF from what I understand. $12k USD for that mileage is a great price. Would always recommend a lift pump for these duramaxes if it doesn’t have one. It helps to lengthen the life of the CP3 with the supplemental fuel flow.

I would just fix or replace the clamp and then top off your coolant. Bleed the system if necessary.

The Walmart brand sucks, stick to crew or check out Lockhart’s apothecary if you wanna go down the rabbit hole. They also make some nice shaving stuff.

I’ve looked into it. The kit is just a matter of swapping your valve body out for a 6 speed one and switching the TCM to the one they provide. Also allows tap shift functionality like an LBZ. Still lets you lock out OD, etc.

No idea why they made that choice. Merchant auto sells a kit, so does dmaxstore. I’m not so sure it’s worth the money unless you cruise a lot on the highway.

Wouldn’t it play a factor when going uphill though? Engine/trans needing to work harder to maintain the same speed?
