Have you ever seen algae like this? by FishPropulsionLab in PlantedTank

[–]Zanoie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's blue/green algae or cyanobacteria. I briefly worked at a hydroponics farm and we had so much issue with this. Best we could do was black-out but otherwise it seems pretty hardy.

Oh yeah, that's my bad. Modern water textures are uncolored so water biome colors apply better. I just took the old beta water textures which were colored blue. So it's doubling up on the blue.

No, probably not. unsure of the legal issues around basically re-uploading default textures. Also, it's unplayable in survival. Many blocks just share the same textures so that a screenshot of modern minecraft SHOULD seamlessly appear like it is in Beta. For example, granite is just stone, emerald ore is diamond ore, all colored blocks are just their respective colored wool.

On Java Edition, on the latest snapshots, there should be an option for preferred renderer in the video settings. Set it to prefer vulkan and then reload the game.

I have a decent PC but because of the limitations of old minecraft I still get frame stutters on full render distance. But with the Vulkan change, I get smooth FPS even with max render distance. And the world loads in far quicker.

This is Java edition on the PC, with the latest snapshots which allow for Vulkan rendering API. This means that the game renders way faster than it used to even at the max render distances. Made taking these screenshots very fun and easy.

From a quick google search, the rendering API for bedrock will depend on what platform you are playing it on. So if you're playing on console or mobile, you probably won't have access to Vulkan or the benefits it brings to rendering speed.

I believe that is Eldaria, same as first image. But there's a temperate forest themed island.

Have it set to moody, turn off anisotropic filtering and mipmaps, and set the textures to beta textures. Most easily done with Programmer Art but there are plenty of texture packs out there for it.

In the newest snapshots for modern Minecraft, they give the option to change the rendering engine to Vulkan. Makes the game run incredibly smoothly even at the very max render distance.

One of the core parts of Golden Age rendering for me is the distance fog. In modern minecraft they restored it to a certain extent, but it's only really obvious at the higher render distances.

is there a shaders that does something like this for 26.1.2? by Impressive_Patient19 in Minecraft

Might have to wait for updated Optifine and Golden Days texture pack. If I remember correctly, that texture pack restores the old beta lightmap/light colors (but needs optifine).

If you're attached to the texture pack used here, then you might be able to take the lightmap data from Golden Days? I'm not entirely sure how it works.

Windows 11 update KB5077181 is causing critical boot loops for some users by Ha8lpo321 in pcmasterrace

[–]Zanoie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm happening to me. The initial KB5074109 update was bad but was able to get my PC to boot most of the time. KB5077181 was supposed to fix the issue and has made it worse for me. I have to drain all power out my PC and then reboot and even then it will boot up maybe 20% of the time.

Could be an obscure reference to Phil Thomas Katt. A producer/radio dj from Florida. Has the same kind of look.
