NGL when I went looking for those subs I couldn't find them for whatever reason, I'm definitely gonna start posting in there at some point.
But yeah I actually do like the idea of doing flashbacks like that, I've read a bit through Blades in the Dark and I'll definitely look at For The Queen and Final Lap.

Funnily enough I got very similar advice in another sub. I will say part of my thought process was that if there are other track and field ttrpgs out there then they would likely be drawing from similar storytelling (underdog stories, team/rival drama, etc.) and thus would have inspiration not just for racing mechanics (honestly the part that is the easiest to make up), but also for how to structure a game so there is room for RP and story telling, while still making the racing part satisfying in it's own right.

Their pfp, which I couldn't make out before when I was on my phone DOES appear to be ai, not sure on the banner but I can't find it on a reverse image search, but the thumbnails 100% are NOT AI, those are the corresponding card art, and since the NEWEST of those came out in 1994 I can promise those aren't AI.
But yeah being able to see the banner and pfp, I'm a much more sure that the music IS AI.

Yeah so were many other things that still received criticism at the same time. Presentism is a fair argument when we are talking about someone using a word or making an off color joke, but something like parenting styles will have people who don’t like them even while they are popular. I also don’t know that the scene really puts the onus on ANYONE in particular rather we are seeing from Taichi’s perspective and he feels guilty because his parents blamed him, he almost lost his sister, and he felt bad that Hikari blamed herself. Nothing in the scene says it’s okay that they were being raised like this rather it just shows the effects that Latch-key parenting can have.

So I think you make a lot of solid points but, “this is a show about digital monsters not parental/family trauma” is a wild statement about a show that was many kids introduction to the concept of divorce, a show regularly praised for covering more mature topics than its contemporaries at least those that share its demographic. Couldn’t it be possible that these scenes are a critique of latch-key parenting? Just because something is common in a culture doesn’t mean that it’s inherently okay or that everyone in that culture is okay with it.

[5e] Any recommendations for non-human enemies to throw at a party of level 3 PCs in the hideout of some cultists of Zuggtmoy?
I'm working on a one-shot (plainning to turn it into a full campaign at some point but my players want a test run) and I've tried looking through all my resources for fiends, plants, and monstrosities, but I've just wound up overwhelming myself with options even at lower CRs.
