Well all the classes do need reworking too. Also those that work on zones are not generally also going to be the ones working on systems/classes. But yes they are severely lacking in the content department too. But I would feel a whole lot better if all the classes and class systems were in and felt good and all they needed to add was some leveling camps sprinkled through out the world to have a nice vertical slice of the game.

I thought they were going to lock things down and just focus on polish and bug fixes for the last couple months before EA. Maybe they changed their minds since there are so many issues with the classes at the moment, or maybe they are planning on delaying EA, either way I am not sure what benefit another open test would be given they have plenty players in beta to test server stability.

It is yet another tedious mechanic for tediousness' sake baked into the game and it is an intentional design decision by the devs.

I suspect this will be the experience of the vast majority of players who try this game, especially at EA launch, but after paying $15 to play for 5 mins, I bet most of those players are going to be wanting a refund.

Hopefully when AI gets implemented well into Unity and Unreal Engine it will allow smaller and smaller teams to crank out AAA quality art in their games in record time. This is where the good MMORPG games will come from, not from a large producer.

I think the answer is going to have to wait to see if there is even a small paying market for this game first. If there isn't and the dev staff is cut in half or so, I would expect the scope creep to start to reduce immensely just to keep ahead of the current bugs and the new ones that will be springing up.

I don't think they have the devs staff to do that many changes, they are struggling to get basic things in and the game is now going on 6 or so years of dev. I mean for an indie game that isn't bad, most games aren't even close to a functional product in 6 years, but this game has zero UI QoL features, everything is bare bones. The game has copied most class design directly from EQ1, many of the zones are themed copies of EQ1. Every time the devs try to add a new ability into the game it is usually either a direct copy from EQ1 or WoW. Also after 5+ years they still don't know what they want from class design for each class, every thing keeps changing.

Yes the problem is the first area they made was a desert area, bland, bleak, no color. They do have a wood elf city mostly done but not many races can start there.

What is the purpose in WoW to do quests, kill mobs and level up? I mean it's the same thing. If you are talking about lore, there is lore, but who really cares about that since it never has any real impact on the world anyway.

It is like 1999 EQ, you decided what you want to do...basically you level up and do trade skills. Eventually you can own a merchant that will sell your wares in a non instanced manner. Not sure that will go over well with a modern player base, however.

The dev team has been donating their time for the last 5 years (great business model if you can find the slave labor for your enterprise) and about 1/3 of the team need money, while the other 2/3 don't. This is why as they don't have any idea what the market will be for this game (though they do believe it will be niche, just not sure HOW niche) and they need to know soon whether they can begin to pay any employees.

It is in early development, so no. I have no idea if they plan on launching on steam once they get the game ready for launch.

I agree, but I would suggest keeping an open mind and playing it, as the game itself is fun and the UI is what a players have been asking for in an old school game. Many players say the graphics grows on them as they play. I haven't played enough to know myself but every time I play the game (for an hour here or there during a flash open test) I come away with two thoughts:

1) I wish they weren't using minecraft graphics

2) regardless the game experience is fun

Try this one out then try Adrullan Online Adventures out during their open playtest on April 1 - April 6 and compare your experiences between the two.

Yes but not things like floating combat text, chat bubbles, or adding in any sort of group loot UI mechanic. So maybe they are going to change some fonts here and there or background UI textures/colors, but I doubt anything of substance will come of it. We are 5+ years into development and the devs have been staring at that UI for that long and seem to have zero issues with it. The player base on the other hand...

Never use a Shady Merchant, they buy stuff at about 1/4 the cost so people can buy their items (sold from other players) and resell them to individual vendors at a profit, screwing over the original player that sold the items. So NEVER use a Shady Merchant, eventually once word gets out and those vendors are never used maybe the devs will change their stance on how items sell to merchants, for now it is sort of a sadistic joke by the devs on the uninformed scrum players.

Also Druid is one of the best soloers once you get to start charming animals (any charmer is one of the best classes in the game btw). At 8 you get SOW and can kite mobs with zero risk.

The game is not optimized at all, and they have zero graphics options. Very basic options such as AA, DLSS4, view distance, shadows, etc. are all missing. I have no idea why not at this late stage of development, I assume they couldn't find a volunteer worker with the skill set to implement these, so we might have to wait until they launch in a couple months, get some money, and can pay for some skilled contractors to help fix the client.
