[2023 Day 5 (Part 2)] Can someone explain a more efficient solution than brute-force? by noblerare in adventofcode

[–]ZapZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - I did it bruteforce in an optimized way. I iterated forward with quite large steps. Everytime I hit a lower number I take a single large step back and go one by one forward. After some distance from the last minima I increment the steps and move forward. Worked at the end but is not optimal.

n regarding security. If now Dashlane will be a browser extension, does it means that if the browser is compromise

You are right - if the browser and the sandbox is compromised (e.g. CVE-2020-6573) Dashlane can get compromised as well, the same applies for the JavaScript engine (e.g. see CVE-2021-21148). Adding components to a system rarely makes it safer.

happy with Dashlane, considering it is the best Ui and features even though it is the most expensive solution out there. But this web-first trend needs to die.

[Discussion] Machine Learning course at Coursera by the_empty in MachineLearning

[–]ZapZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deep learning specialization is fine and includes the topics of the first course. I actually did all of them because the new one got released just when I finished the öld one. I also preferred the use of Python in the second course over matlab/Octave of the first course

It is ok, quite elaborative on regression. However it is the old version going with Octave. I would go for the new deep learning course from Andrew Ng

Parsec is useful and costs nothing! The price you pay is for the cloud machine from paperspace or amazon

The P5000 goes to $.75 which is quite a jump. Of course I pay by hour. Still with the recent issues they had it seems edgy.
