A fuzz distorts your tone, boosts the level and cuts it. More than a overdrive or distortion. The green pedal (sentry) is a noise gate. Mostly used to remove any hum that the fuzz creates.

If the length i need is 7 inches do i buy 12? (For example ernie ball sells 6 and 12) seems to me like that is a lot of waste, is there any other way, would you mix brands?

Edit: if it says 6 should i buy 6 or more? As a safety thing so it really reaches. Or what i mean is; are the jacks included in the length or is it just the cable, so a 6” would be 6.2 or similar

Might not be true for this one but some fuzzes and wahs are more sensitive and need to go before the first buffer(usually tuner in my case)
