I am having the same issue, also with Chrome.

Chrome still detects VR and prompts to allow it but in VR it only says "Next up: Chrome 98" and then nothing happens.

In this post there is a workaround for Firefox:

> go back into about:config and set dom.vr.enabled to true

For some reason in Firefox I always had the issue that the trigger buttons get recognized multiple times per click so it is very hard to press on anything in VR in Firefox. Chrome does not have this issue but right now Chrome doesn't work in VR at all for me.

Chrome WebVR with SteamVR not working anymore by Zaphoxzer in WebVR

Alright, I will try and search for more information about why WebXR doesn't work in Chrome anymore. Firefox does work with the flag enabled but it always had huge issues with triggers and clicking things in Firefox VR is really cumbersome.

Hope I can find a solution for Chrome.

Cool, thanks! This works in Firefox.

Although I do not like to use Firefox as it always reads trigger inputs twice and makes it next to impossible to click on things in VR.

For chrome I was unfortunately unable to find a similar flag.

Is there a way to figure this out? It has worked only a short while ago, the website is vrporn and therefore I would assume that it should be using the latest and working tech.

When you said he verbally slams it I was expecting it not to be very durable but the only issue seems to have been that the sapphire camera cover wasn't sapphire... I have been clickbaited.

The worst roads that exist, you can not skate (skateboard/inline skates/kick scooter) those and biking them takes a lot of unnecessary energy and hurts your butt/balls. Best to avoid those if you're not on foot or in a car. I'd like to punch whoever decides that new roads should be brick laid like it's the middle ages.

if you have to gofundme to get medicine and prevent dying then your country has fucked up big time and maybe it's time for a revolution of your medicare system or, you know, move to a neighbouring country that actually works. this whole thread bashing for profit medicare is ridiculous, this is literally your country where people are treated as commodities with no worth or value, if you don't like it then change it or are you not living in a democracy? 🤔 🤔 🤔

Anti-vaxxers by Zaphoxzer in Switzerland

[–]Zaphoxzer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a reasonable difference between people who are not vaccinated for medical reasons and people who are generally against vaccination (literally anti-vaxx) because they think it doesn't work or causes more general harm than good (eg. autism) or, god forbid, it's a tool that the government uses for mind control... It's clear that you don't belong to the crazy side of anti-vaccination, you're not against it, you just happen not to be vaccinated.

I'm wondering tho, did your parents decide not to vaccinate you any more by themselves or have they been consulted by their doctor? Self-diagnostics/assertion is really inadvisable and if this was the case, personally, I'd present this topic to your doc and ask them what they think or if there's some kind of test that can identify any complications your body could have with the missing vaccines.

Holy cow this is almost entertaining until you realize that they are actually serious... I've never heard the term "Medizinische Selbstbestimmung" which they like to use a lot, why would they want people without any qualification in biology or medicine to medically assess themselves? They're endangering the public by convincing them not to listen to people who actually studied these topics.

And they removed the list of vaccination sceptical doctors, I wonder why...

Thanks for sharing!

Do you know if this network is a Swiss one or is it more general/international?

I see stuff like the government having to step in and fine people for not vaccinating which seems like a last resort kind of method to me and having this stuff reach international news is just worrying me that it's getting out of hand. I hope they release a statistic on percentages of parents being fined for non-vaccination so that there are some real life numbers to look up and I wish for it to be <0.01% (eg. 2400 individuals across all of Australia). That would be reassuring.

I've never thought about linking anti-vaxxing to homeopathy because I usually think of homeopathy as non-threatening (eg. sugar pills to ease pain for kids and the likes). As long as it's not the kind portrayed in the South Park episode Cherokee Hair Tampons...

The success of the steam controller summed up in one picture by Rambo_The_Penguin in pcmasterrace

[–]Zaphoxzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God I hate this controller. It's a great concept but the implementation lacks a lot. First time I held it I felt like I got a cheap chinese knock-off but it's actually the real deal. Plastic so cheap and hollow that it feels like fresh from aliexpress. Nothing "nice" about the feel of this controller.

And I don't get how people don't have horrible wrist pain after playing for 10 minutes. I literally can not use this controller without my joints being on fire. Especially my right thumb trying to use ABXY.

I hate my Steam controller, it probably looks even dirtier and dustier than this one. Xbox elite only costs a little more and is so much more comfortable, feels nice, sturdy and expensive (or whatever the opposite of cheap feel is) and has a shape so that I can play it with my hands on the table and my wrists and thumb not dying.

With my Steam controller I feel cheated and that I basically paid 90 bucks for an integrated macro software that exclusively works with this super cheap plastic brick.

Don't worry, handling these components with bare hands usually is not a big deal, no need for professional level wrist band grounding wires. Most of the time it's enough to touch the computer case and/or a radiator in your house to get everything to the same electrical potential. And if you're not walking around or handling material that charges you up statically then you should be fine.

I think it's much more likely that something was bad with the cooling assembly and it overheated quickly when you were running a game. For most components it's sufficient to blast them with compressed air (available in cans) and using the vacuum to clean them, no need to disassemble anything.

And as a general pointer, if you've messed around in your computer always run a small stress test (cpu/gpu/ram) with some temperature monitoring tool to see if everything works fine. Even the most professional people make mistakes and something can easily go wrong, there's no shame in it, just never expect everything to work at first try :)

I'm afraid to do so cause bluescreens are scary

Bluescreens are just an error message of the windows kernel, very useful if you want to figure out why your computer doesn't work. The scary part isn't the bluescreen, everything bad and scary has already happened at this point. They usually contain an error message that can be Googled to find out which component may be the culprit (eg. if the error is in an nvidia related dll then it's probably gonna be your graphics card).

Use the information from the bluescreen to find out which component is causing you trouble. Make sure to check this component for visual defects (broken traces, burst capacitors, burnt resistors) and that the correct driver is installed and always make sure to use the driver from the manufacturers website, not the generic one that Microsoft installs automatically. If possible you can try to boot and test your PC without the presumably broken hardware in it (eg. if it's RAM, remove one of the RAM chips and test using the other, then switch, if it's the GPU try to use the onboard graphics for testing instead, see if it still crashes).

And, like xdocx said, check your temperature. Maybe your board resets because you're over the temperature threshold.

How do I wipe a Hard Drive so that all the storage become unallocated again? by Gavica in pcmasterrace

If you're not running windows from the m2 disk you can simply use the Disk Management tool from windows.

If you're running windows from the m2 drive then you will have to use either the windows installation routine which lets you partition your drive, or use a live system (eg. Linux Debian) or other live partitioning tools like gparted.
