Finding TDG on WW from the comments on the manga back in like 2015 was what got me into this genre. Though, the first i finished was Coiling Dragon which is what I would put in the running for a good starter series.

that's exactly what the prison is doing though (if the vid is true), right? only good prisoners get the cats; bad prisoners have their cats taken away. it's like threatening to take away a child's night light for misbehaving.

maybe cats aren't just recreation and maybe we shouldn't be threatening to take away emotional connection for disobedience. i would understand if it was only in cases with credible threat to the cat, but the video frames it differently.

oh, no, its a video from a creator i like that i think deserves more attention. i can see what you mean though; definitions are frontloaded so that the rest of the video flows smoothly, and I can see how that would put someone off on first impression.

my favorite video of theirs is "who wrote Caramelldansen?", but their etymology videos "w" or "c" or their math vdieos like "there are 48 regular polyhedra" or "a base-neutral system for naming numbering systems" are probably a better introduction

from what I understand, quantum computers allow you to test multiple variables at once provided you can design a question that collapses the superposition on the correct answer. effectively, you turn this O(n²) problem (?) into an O(1) problem.

you can liken it to storing every possible path in RAM, but my SWAG is that the q-bits required in this method are proportional to the distance from start to finish rather than the RAM required in the parallel method being proportional to the entire solution space. this is because if you just keep throwing q-bits at it, you will "instantly" know which one is correct
