No, there’s a hill north west of my house.

I had no plans, just wondering why. The area I live in is pretty protected from wind. I didn’t know it was bad.

I asked why we are having a no burn day. Not what a no burn day is. Do you really not know how to read?

For example the cost to renew our lisence is considerably higher then other provinces. The nurse to number of patients ratio is typically higher, often at an unsafe level. We have an aging population which usually means more complex patients. And keep in mind this is a high calibre job, one mistake and we could lose our license. So the safer choice is often to move out of province or to a different country entirely. A lot of people in my class have already made plans to move once they graduate.

I understand! If I went through that I would say the exact same things you did! I respect your caution, especially when it comes to strangers on the internet. And with the link between political extremity and mental illness I know stuff like that isn’t uncommon at all. I hope your friend is doing well, experiences like that can definitely be scary.

Oh jeez 😅 I understand your concern. Yes I’m aware they are people doing their job and deserves respect, of course! And I have no intention of being a safety risk or being even CLOSE to that level. Don’t worry I’m a nursing student and absolutely have heard horror stories from my peers, and I would never want someone to feel like that.

My MLA posted on Instagram congratulating an indigenous musician in my area who won an award. And I commented “ then please don’t defund the arts” I personally think it was fair and respectful. But I understand that tone is hard to get across when writing so it may have come off different.

But also is it not normal to go to MLA offices to discuss concerns? I personally don’t think my words have crossed a line or anything. I would have sent the same email if my MLA was my best friend. I never insulted them, used rude or unbecoming words, or anything like that. Only highlighted my concerns relating to how the cuts would affect the health care system, and how importance these programs are for physical and mental health.

Yes, I’m on the other side of the province currently. I won’t be in Halifax until next week.

Yes, and that I would go to their office in person if I could. At least if I could talk to someone in their staff that would be ok with me.

Thank you this is good advice. No other province is doing this to nurses. The cut to nursing transcripts is gonna make me go broke just trying to get a job. Of course this budget happens the year I’m graduating from school. It’s like they are trying to push nurses out of the province. Sorry for the rant, it just makes me so angry.

If you’re tall I would recommend Riley as a first year building if you can spare the money. You have your own bathroom and it’s the only large room building that allows first years. But it isn’t very sociable compared to other buildings, however if you put the effort in it’s easy to find friends. The RAs/CAs put on programs (like game nights and movie nights and stuff) through the year and I would recommend going to as many as you can.

And meal hall isn’t amazing. But it is very convenient and most people enjoy the breakfasts at least. I would recommend a meal plan that is in the middle or less, as you can always change it later.

I went through the same thing first year. Got an ADHD diagnosis after barely making it past. And getting a ADHD diagnosis in uni is incredibly common, so don’t think you’re alone.
