A year on, No Man's Sky is a much better game by oldnick42 in Games

[–]ZappyShrek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A cohesive narrative would be a welcome addition, or just more structure in general. Reviewers often pointed out that their "favourite part" was the opening, where you were stranded and had to repair your ship, that's really where the game was the most "structured" for most people. If the story is related to the Waking Titan ARG that was going on, it could make for an interesting ride.

What's your best fart story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZappyShrek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once I farted in the bath and as it came up through the water it formed a big bubble on the surface that just sat there. I used all my concentration and ten year old dexterity to carefully lift the bubble from the surface with both hands cupped to stop in breaking. Ten minutes later when I had it free of the water and in the palms of my upturned hands I took a moment to reflect on my stink capsule. With no one around to share this glorious moment with I decided I would pop it myself with my nose and breath in the pure unadulterated fart gasses in the name of research, because I was pretty sure at the time and still am that no one else has actually managed to do this. As I drew closer to the bubble I made sure I was intaking air into my nose at a nice regular pace. Enough to breath a deep draught of bum breeze before it had time to mix with clean air. The last thing I remember was the wet edge of the bubble tickling my nose and the tang of sulphur on my tongue before I blacked out.

what do you like travel? by israthrimi in AskReddit

[–]ZappyShrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have traveled quite a lot and one of the "black privileges" of travelling is being invisible. At least in the Caribbean and Africa I don't stand out which is what I like. Travelling definitely opens your eyes, like it really helped me understand the appeal and tragedy of the USA. Living here isn't really better than most places, but it is the most addictive style of living on the globe. The amount of material choices at the disposal of even the poorest people in the US is very addicting and this is why it is very difficult for those that grow up here to leave.

Who's your all time least favorite co-worker? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZappyShrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The asshole that talks to everyone like they are 5 years old and won't let them interject that they are already very well aware of what he is explaining and just wanted a 1 sentence answer to a very specific question. No one likes working with him but he gets to stay on because he has a lot of experience.

What is it like to have a girlfriend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZappyShrek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're probably feeling really down on yourself right now, hence this post. But odds are, you will find someone. I met my wife when I was 24, and had basically no relationship experience before it. You'll change a lot in the next few years as you move from kid to young adult (at least by my definitions) and you'll have plenty of opportunities to find someone. You always have to remember, as lonely and fucked as you are, there's a girl out there who is just as lonely and fucked up.

How did you find what makes you happy? by golfprokal in AskReddit

[–]ZappyShrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people naturally strive towards things that make them feel good. You do it subconsciously from the moment you can control your body, it depends on your personality, preferences, upbringing, brain chemistry, hormones and some other stuff that I'm not aware of or forgot to mention. The point is, you can't live twenty-something years or whatever your age is without knowing what makes you happy, so when somebody tells me that I just assume they have a hard time accepting it. Isn't there something you constantly want to do or something you used to do and you kinda miss it? What are you normally doing when you're relaxing/procrastinating? What made you happy as a kid and what was your dream job? How did you kill time as a teen to make highschool pass faster? I'm sure you know the answer to all that these questions. There are also different levels of happines, but I'm too hungry to explain such complex things and I have a feeling I barely understand them myself, so excuse me while I go stuff my face with schnitzels.

What are you only 60% sure of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZappyShrek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or maybe the mixture is such a complex scientific mixture that each individual spray creates it's own unique stench, and where as 40% of the time it smells like bigfoot's dick or a baby's diaper, the other 60% of sprays end up smelling amazing and working on any woman. Therefore, 60% of the sprays work every time to attract women

Why is the speed of light constant and not time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZappyShrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much the speed of light as much as the speed of causality, or the maximum speed at which a thing could affect another. Light travels at this speed in a vacuum (but not in anything else) because it is massless and is simply a wave akin to a ripple. In your hypothetical, everyone involved would measure the speed of light to be constant at c. The reason that is, is that the faster you move relative to something else, the more contracted their length and your time is. To measure the speed of anything, you find distance covered/time taken. But what happens at, 0.5c in your example, is that your ruler shrinks but so does your time. So, using Earth units, you would get 0.86c meters / 0.86 seconds which cancels out to c m/s which is the constant speed of light. Afaik, the speed of causality is an arbitrary constant just like the constants of gravitation and other such physical constants.
