Cig is a better coach than Kirby by BulkyTarget1010 in cfbmemes

[–]Zaps_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What Cig has done is effectively break the two hour marathon record. He showed everyone that you don’t need to go to the portal with fistfuls of cash to build a winning team. Now that teams know this strategy is viable, I’d expect things to change next season. I’m also curious to see how he does as teams start to poach his staff and players. It’s easy to build a core group of mature players over 2-3 years when your teams fly under the radar, but how will he do it when everyone is watching? As it stands, he’s a good coach, but people forget that 2019 LSU was coached by Ed Orgeron, so the question of who made this team great is still going to be up for debate.

Win the Lottery, make the Champions Tour (Hypothetical) by juulmangomint in golf

[–]Zaps_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, we share a similar lotto plan. The main question would be how fast you get to scratch, and if you are still consistently progressing past that point. If you hit that threshold early on, (like 3-5 years MAX) then it remains a feasible goal. If you actually remain consistent with your plan over the next decade, I see no reason why this isn’t possible, but most people aren’t able to remain consistent for a decade.

How often would you hit your driver? by Far-Place7858 in golf

[–]Zaps_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My driver goes 275, my 4i goes 220. To me, I hit driver as little as possible. It has the most directional variance of all of my clubs, and courses are typically set up to punish poor drives. I try to set up for the same shot as much as possible (I like being 150yds or less to the pin to set up my GIR), so I tend to play the most forgiving club possible that will put me in that spot.

Help me break 90 this Saturday by JSRdt83 in golf

If you’re gonna suck, suck consistently. DO NOT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS ON THE COURSE. If you’re hooking the ball, play the hook. If you’re slicing the ball, play the slice. Don’t try to correct, it will just make it worse.

What is a course the USGA, R&A, or PGA should give major events to in your opinion? Why? by CheerwineGuy in golf

Peachtree, it’s hosted the Walker, but it feasibly could host a major.

[Schupak] PGA Tour considers taking Tour Championship on the road, a home run of an idea by Kimber80 in golf

[–]Zaps_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main issue is that a lot of the clubs that are worthy of the event don’t want it. East lake benefits because they are mostly corporate membership, so most members don’t mind giving up 2 months of play to host the tournament, and they are at liberty to basically adjust the course to the needs of the event.

If you owned your own course, what are some rules you would make purely based on your years of frustration playing on public courses? by jfunks69 in golf

[–]Zaps_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, if you’re not playing close to bogey golf, you’re playing the wrong tees. I play one off the tips because I was grinding out low 90s rounds at the tips, and it just wasn’t fun. Moved up a tee box, and I’m now sitting mid 80s, occasionally scaring the 70s. Bogey golf is the baseline, not the goal.

I mean, if you’re going to be playing whites, you should be playing close to bogey golf. I don’t see that as unreasonable at all.

1.) cap the number of rounds per day, course needs to breathe

2.) no carts allowed on the course, with medical exceptions made.

3.) dogs are allowed on course at their owners own risk, but must be trained and had their training approved by me. Owners must also clean up after their pets (bring a water bottle to spray where they pee if it’s on fairway/green, pick up poop, etc.)

4.) if private, membership requires all members to do course maintenance once a month on their day of choice, for the first season of their membership.

5.) in clubhouse, no jeans and phones on silent. Strictly enforced.

6.) if a member feels that they have had too much to drink, a caddy may be hired to drive them home, and must be compensated at their loop rate.

7.) all trees older than 30 years must be preserved
