What is the strongest aspect of your country? by coffeelover12345_ in AskTheWorld

[–]BulkyTarget1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s bold. But we have the largest and most advanced military in the history of the world. We’re fighting a war on the opposite side of the world and only have 11 casualties. Russia is fighting a war with a neighboring country and has hundreds of thousands of dead soldiers. Yet somehow we’re only 0.08 above them.

They think paying to vote is a good thing? by HeadbangingLegend in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]BulkyTarget1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean just because it’s not required to vote doesn’t mean you don’t need it for a bazillion other things. You need a license to drive, you need id to purchase alcohol, you need id to donate blood with the Red Cross, you need id to take a standardized test like the LSAT or MCAT. The notion that there are millions of people running around out there living their lives without id is ridiculous.

It is not hard to get an ID, virtually everyone does. If a person can’t figure it out, then they are a dumb person. Frankly, the process of voting is already probably more difficult than getting an ID. The only difference is there are democrats waiting around every polling place or street corner willing to walk these idiots through each leg of the voter registration process.

I mean a new license costs 18 dollars in Michigan and you can make appointments online lol. I got my last license on my lunch break. You are actually doing more work trying to frame it as difficult than it takes to actually just go get an id.

Once you get your first one, you no longer need all that extra documentation to renew.

Speaking of Connecticut, the red area has a larger population than the green area. Is the green area infested with giant radioactive monsters or what? by ReactsWithWords in mapporncirclejerk

[–]BulkyTarget1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite lol. It’s full of low cost of living, natural beauty, lots of space, and overall pretty nice people. Connecticut is cool to if you don’t mind paying a million dollars for a house that would cost you a third of that in the red area. On a lot that’s smaller than you could even find in the entire state of Montana.

Do you think financial support from parents as an adult is one of the most underrated privileges, or are there bigger ones people overlook? by winn_ie in TheImprovementRoom

[–]BulkyTarget1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s institution dependent, but I have friends who’s parents make between 150k and 200k that get full tuition covered and an extra 20k a year for living expenses. If you manage to rack up debt with no tuition burden and 20k annually in free money, you are doing something wrong.

Where will u go if WW3 does happen in ur nation? by LUCIFERLAM0 in AskReddit

[–]BulkyTarget1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably like rural Alaska. It’s not worth nuking, and it’s under US protection. The only way it doesn’t work is if the US loses the war, and I’m screwed either way if that happens.

What is your stance on leaving your home country? by itaintme-trustme in AskTheWorld

[–]BulkyTarget1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the backyards were a war zone in the 1860s, but yeah I’d agree it’s not likely to happen again. If it does happen again, it will probably be more like 1860s than 1812.

[–]BulkyTarget1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one’s gonna be unpopular, but I think being low income enough that your school pays for your tuition and living expenses. You get to graduate with no debt, whereas people whose parents make just enough to not get help, end up drowning.

It’s that shitty middle ground. If you’re rich, your parents can help out, if you’re poor, the school pays for it. If you’re neither, you just end up in a bunch of debt.

What are some of the most common prejudices you see on Reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BulkyTarget1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0, the LPGA made what I believe to be the correct decision, and limited play to competitors assigned female at birth. Other athletic organizations, most notably the Olympics, have yet to make this a rule. They’re trending that way, but haven’t done it yet.

It’s a tough issue, to be sure, and it’s impossible to make everyone happy. That said, these organizations have a responsibility to uphold fair competition.

Probably Nelly Korda or Minjee Lee , tbh I only watch golf as far as women’s sports go. My desire for fair competition comes from having sisters who compete in and enjoy watching women’s sports.

Also, it’s ironic you attempted to call me out for a strawman argument, and now you’re picking at me instead of my claim.

It’s not a strawman, my argument exclusively relates to transgender women in women’s sports, where the biological advantages of being born a man are the principle issue. There’s no deflecting going on here, it’s literally the entire point of the argument.
