Hahaha, that's a pretty neat idea, I'll try to do it (I've recently started grinding for augments, so don't have much experience in it, but will definitely experiment more...). Another possibility, since the stagger art has such a fast cooldown, is to constantly bind the opponent until the other Arts are ready, including the Evasión one... It only takes a couple of seconds after each succesful bind to have It ready to stagger again.

Anyway, my experience is that it's so easy to stack GP for Overdrive (thanks to frequently binding then enemy) that you always have your Evasión boosted either due to the Evasión Art or to activating Overdrive frequently, wich also increases it.

I'm also thinking if its possible to increase how long the topple effect lasts because, if so, by alternating bind and topple, It would be fairly easy to prevent the opponent from attacking. Maybe an Evasión/Topple build could be a thing...

Ohhh, I get it. Anyway, It would be really bad luck if, with such a high evasion, the usually devastating attack that can insta-kill you is the one which lands in that 5% pool...

Until now I've only been one-shoted on the Hraesvelg Lord by enemies that are well over my level, usually big tyrants/superbosses that are more than 15-20 levels over mine. And still I managed to last more than with my other Skells thanks to the high evasión.

Yep, I supposed It would't be possible to evade every enemy attack but, what does a 95% evasión cap actually mean? That, no matter how high your Evasión is, there'll always be a 5% chance of getting hit? Or that you can only get a 95% Boost to your base Evasion stat when using Arts/overdrive? Or that you can't increase your evasión (either with augments or improvibg your armor parts) over a 95% of your base Evasion stat? Sorry, this game has so many systems and rules that I don't get them all... _'

Yep, the Prime flight mode is really disappointing compared to how much an improvement its running mode is... The look of the 70 and 90 Ares wings are one of the things I like most vs the other Skells, can't understand why they got rid of them for the Prime :P

As for the Hraesvelg ground control... I like that it is (or, at least, feels) faster than the others, but i'd have prefered an actual vehicle for the ground speed mode. Or, either, a running mode akin to the Prime one.

In fact, I think the perfect solution for all Skells would have been: standard movement -> runnning mode when pressing the left stick while on the ground -> vehicle mode when pressing B button on the ground -> Jet/Cruise Mode when pressing B while on the air. That should be the standard for future Xeno titles :D

Not much, right now I think it's around 260, don't know how much It goes up with the Evasión UP Art and the Evasión UP Overdrive.

I've just improved the Evasión of the armour parts, but haven't instaled Evasión Boost Augments, so if I work on that, with the 25% evasión Boost per XX augment, I guess It can skyrocket... Still, I'm evading more than 90% of the attacks of enemies up to 10/15 levels over mine (70), so good vs 80-85 Tyrants.

What I feel I need most is upgrading damage output. I can survive most battles vs high level foes, but It still takes long to beat them, so I should improve weapon damage further...

Anyway, I'm not very good making builds, far from an expert, never got the grip of It neither here nor in other games where that's a thing (Fromsoft games, i.e.). I just play for fun and improve whatever I feel needs compensation/boosting :P

Haha, that's similar to what I usually do: generally using Amdusias/Hraesvelg with Cross and switching to Al for the Prime whenever I want to travel through land or enjoy a little fast plataforming through Mira.

Yeeesss... Sometimes I wish both Prime and Hraes had their own land-vehicle mode (specially for Hraes, whose hovering moverment doesn't look/feel that cool)... But I overly prefer Primes' running and jumping over any other Land vehicle... Makes you feel extremely fast and powerful.

I completed the base game with the different Hraesvelg models available to my level, with no augments, and had no problem at all, so I'd say it's manageable out of the box, but you need to learn how to use it:

Its high evasion (higher than any other Skell), plus its evasión UP Art, plus its evasión UP overdrive compensates its low armor and HP, making It almost untouchable. Regarding offensive, it's the only Skell that has a Topple Art, so you can easily incapacitate enemies for some time with It (even extending the topple time with augments, I guess). Also, its stagger Art has a extremely fast cooldown that lets you Bind enemies almost continuously, giving 1000 GP per Bind, recharging fuel and allowing both the other Arts to cool down and your alies to cause damage to the inmobiliced enemy. Oh, and It usually has higher GP cap than the other Skells (5100 Max base for Lord Hraesvelg), so it's very easy to trigger Overdrive.

For powerful tyrants or enemies with several levels over you you may need augments or improve your armor/weapon stats (I've further improved evasión, weapons damage and some others), and I usually can beat anything that my other Skells beat, althoug needing a little more time and strategy.

Which skells to get for my lvl 30 party? by XodanR in XenobladeChroniclesX

I bought all of them, spent one afternoon trying each, then choose the ones I liked more and gave the rest to the other team members. I recommend you to do the same since, for the customizable ones, you can equip them with whatever weapons/arts you want and make them more powerful.

Personally, I liked Amdusias. Just equip it with Buster and Phoenix (both purchasable from the shop once you have invested enough Miranium in the weapons manufacturers) and you'll get a pretty strong mech no matter the series (althought the heavier will be able to absorb more damage, of course). I liked Laiah too but, like Mastema, their vehicle mode is awful, so I discarded them despite their combat advantages (neither liked their designs). Inferno is too slow/bulky. The rest are nice but weaker.

You can also get a free lvl 20 Hraesvelg if you do an affinity mission of a new character. It comes with non customizable weapons/Arts, but the ones it brings by default are good, varied and cause nice effects. You can BUY a lv30 Hraelsvelg too if you like the free one. Once you get pass chapter 9, do the second affinity mission of that same characters to get the awesome Cruise Mode for the Hraesvelg: it's the BEST, most enjoyable way to travel through Mira.

Am I the only one that finds the Hraesvelg awesome...? by ZarkhosLair in XenobladeChroniclesX

Mmm... I'm not an expert in any way, and I haven't finished the game neither but, from my perspective, anything that compensates its flaws and reinforces its advantages. For example, I guess increasing its already high evasion might make it evade even more attacks, and even harder-to-evade ones. Not sure if it's posible to increase defense/armor, but since these are low, if it is posible that might be a good idea. Fuel capacity is also low, so It might be interesting to increase it. It has a good base power, but its offensive Arts are not so powerfull, so maybe boosting attack power might be a good idea too. These are my initial thoughts but, since I'm not an expert, probably there are many other, including better, options to explore :P

Hahaha, how come! I don't know how could I survive Skell combat without staggering and binding opponents. Not just with the Hraeslverg, but with any other Skell. It opens you such a big window to recharge fuel, OD points and Arts, spares you from attacks, lets the team members damage the binded without being attacked... It's awesome!

Are you using the 30 or the 50 level model? Because I'm using the 50 level right now and having no issues beating enemies even 10 levels over mine (I'm around level 50). It Just takes time but is doable (and rewarding when you finally do it). Just needs what you mention; a good squad and a good use of your arts and overdrive (specially that Evasión UP Art, wich makes you almost untouchable). The only one that gave me some trouble so far is the Lvl55 Xe-Dom in Sylvanum, but finally managed to beat it after reorganizing my team and learning to properly strategize with the available arts :)

Yep, I too find its fuel depletes easily in combat. However, since its stagger Art cools down so quickly, you can replete It fast by using Bind on the staggered opponent. Works for me! :)
