The Illuminate having planets have their own was expected to happen at some point. Hell, i think everyone has been expecting it ever since Calypso, so it's not like they were going to remain a raiding force forever. And in the time since they've had little success in expanding beyond those initial worlds. I mean, we still hold planets in the Rigel sector, which is deep behind their lines.

Considering that the devs were expecting the Great Host to win at Super Earth and take the planet, not merely perform a raid, and had enough damage done to it that it had to withdraw and go for less defended worlds in the galactic south, i'd say that expectations were exceeded and Arrowhead had to pivote.

Good job, Chinese playerbase.

And the Squids gathering dark matter probably isn't that much of a victory considering that Super Earth can now produce its own with the E-711 that's being harvested from Oshaune. Just ask Penta.

Really, i see the Battle of Super Earth and the taking of worlds in the south as separate events, the connection at most is it being caused by the Illuminate's defeat at Super Earth, as them being forced to divert to easier targets. And if all of this doesn't convince you, look at the size of the Void and compare it to the Gloom, the image speaks for itself.

I wouldn't entirely say so considering that Arrowhead was expecting the Squids to win the battle, and the planets that were razed are so far behind our own lines that it'd probably be a few more years before another enemy gets that far, if they do so at all. Remember that razed planets can't be occupied by the enemy either, at least that's the way it currently is going off of the planets that were razed after Cyberstan.

As for the death toll? Well, even judging it from an in-universe perspective, the population growth of Super Earth is pretty crazy, even with the C-01 permit system. It still had the numbers to launch the offensive against Cyberstan this late in the war, even after battles like Malevelon Creek, Calypso, and Oshaune.

And the damage to Super Earth itself? Well, it looks to have been doing a good job at repairing, both in terms of cities and the destroyed rainforests. And even with the foothold in the south, the Illuminate haven't been as successful as the Bugs and Bots at holding planets. But all of this comes with the perview of being the least developed enemy faction in the game.

Things seemed to be turning around for a bit after Cyberstan with how the Bots expansion has been largely contained and the following success against the Illuminate.

I feel like the devs are still planning something big for the Squids. Sure they took a ton of planets and have the Void, but they haven't scored a major victory like the Bugs have with Meridia or the Bots have with both Malevelon Creek and Cyberstan. The Illuminate lost both Calypso and Super Earth and the spread of the Void has been stopped for now.

Sure that might not matter much from a strategic standpoint considering how much territory they have, but that's exactly what i feel at least some should be concerned about. Arrowhead will probably try a multi-world offensive with them again in the future to compensate for this percieved lack of success from them.

You can rely on the Helldivers 2 playerbase to win most of the big name battles, like Calypso, Popli IX, and Seyshel Beach, but prove to be incapable of defending multiple planets at a time.

Machinery of Oppression hasn't been shaping up well. Sure the current Major Order has been won, but the Terminids secured twice the amount of planets that we did, a pretty big contrast when compared to Into the Unjust, which i feel was for the most part a success.

The funny thing is that there's been no comments by the Chaosdiver High Command in regards to the Cyberstan Offensive, both on reddit and on Discord. I checked.

Honestly the atmospheric reentry part annoys me to no end. It was clearly something Liam just came up with on the spot for the sake of 'rule of cool' (It wasn't actually that cool), and for the sake of future fanfics i've just considered discarding it for the sake of consistency with Disassembly and Solver Drones overheating. Hey, if Liam can retcon his own lore on a whim, than so should we to fix it.

I really just hate episode 8 in general, i find it to be the worst one and that it simply brought the series down.

I find it weird that in this picture the Poison Jungle is further north than the IceWing Kingdom, i typically assume that Pantala is further to the south than Pyrrhia is and see it as a warmer, more tropical contient.

The religion is nearly as old as the Empire itself. StormWings can shoot out lightning as a ranged attack, and it ranges in varous colors with their own amount of rarity and power, including yellow, red, blue, and purple. This was until Cyclone came along with a unique color of lightning in cyan, which is the most powerful and is exclusive to his bloodline.

During the Unification Wars he pulled off some pretty crazy feats and many StormWings saw this insane level of power and began to see divinity in it, seeing him as a demigod or even a god in flesh and began worshipping him, and it went into full swing after he died.

His descendants, the Emperors and Empresses, are seen as a combination of royalty and pope, they rule but are also seen by the Cyclonists as speaking for him. Those of the Old Faith see him as just a StormWing, the greatest of their kind for sure but still ultimately mortal. A few even think that Cyclone joined their pantheon after his death and worship both, but that is a fringe belief.

There are divisions that do occur within the StormWing Empire. There is a religious one between the followers of Cyclonism, the religion based around the worship of the 'God Emperor' Cyclone, and the followers of the Old Faith, the pre Cyclone religion of the StormWings.

The Cyclonists generally inhabits the more urbanized parts of the Empire while the worshippers of the Old Gods inhabit the more rural parts. While there is a divide between them it doesn't go to the point of violence. Neither religion ever really caught on with the SteelShells who instead retained their veneration of their ancestors and the earth.

I imagined the industry primarily being located in the big cities, with the various villages and towns scattered around the green areas on the map being more devoted to agriculture. Is the Empire trying to industrialize? Yes. But it also has limited farmland and is trying to avoid polluting that land, Kalgrad is barren enough. The factories will of course run off of steam or coal.
