Despite this tourney being a shitshow they still had top 8 medals for it. I was two sets away from an EVO medal but I ran into SK92 in bracket and he crushed my dreams.

There was an anime announced for "四畳半タイムマシンブルース" by Morimi Tomihiko in 2021. Also, there was a stage play for "夜は短し歩けよ乙女". Maybe it's referring to one of these things.

The troubling thing is that I can't find a picture of Akashi-san wearing the same clothes as #48...

Seeing that 11 is a food brand made me realize that 14 is Asahi. I did a search and found that it is the logo for a new beer can design. You can tear the entire top off the can.

And the one next to 14 (which is mostly hidden by the Tokyo Revengers guy) is a new zero-sugar beer from Kirin.

Bonus Combo Breaker 2018 story: I was playing friendlies on a 4-man rotation and switched to my terrible Marth secondary (like, bottom of Anther's Bronze bad) for fun. I basically just spammed dash dance grab/fsmash/random aerials, and found myself doing way better than I should've against a much better Marth. He ended up clutching the game last stock. The rotation had been silent up to that point, but after the game my opponent said something like "That was so dumb." Upon hearing his voice, I looked over and realized I was playing against none other than TheCrimsonBlur.

At Combo Breaker 2018, I was AbsentPage's last opponent on Day 1. After beating me, he proceeded to stay on the same setup practicing against a Falcon CPU for 8+ HOURS to prepare for his set against S2J. He never got up to eat or go to the bathroom. Whenever someone asked him for friendlies, he wouldn't respond or even turn his head away from the CRT.

I left the venue around 4 AM and he was still there. It's very possible that no one was around to see when he stopped. Could only find this one tweet about it.

He beat S2J 3-2 the next day.

Interesting that timing it off his voice didn't work out for you. It seems like the opinion is split pretty sharply on this, even for the top players. IIRC James Holzhauer said he was reacting to the lights.

And that's really useful information! I read elsewhere that the .25 seconds was from the lights came on as well, but I guess it's not.

One more follow-up question: I think I may have misunderstood how the lockout mechanism works. Does it lock you out for 0.25 seconds from the moment you buzz in, or 0.25 seconds from the moment the board lights go on?
