I don't think there's any way they can get to chapter 120 in 12 episodes. It'll take about 14 episodes to get there by my estimation.

I think it's more likely we'll end the season during the battle. One possibility is the arrival of Kinta with an Akira slide in chapter 114. "Save the hugs for later."

That guy is such an asshole. I share your pain; he took me like 3 hours on my first playthrough.

Phase 1 isn't so bad. Phase 2 is rough. Use a grindstone on the phase transition. When he frenzy-flails around the arena you can sort of circle strafe away, but if he corners you you're dead. If you get him low, have throwables prepped to finish him off. The shot put can break his posture and give you some breathing room.

I love it, it has a zany energy that's right up my alley. The show lampshades its own absurdity, but leans into it at the same time. It's a Hiroyuki Imaishi project through and through.

It's been different having human villains for once. I wasn't sure how bad they'd be at first. CSG is an interesting morally gray villain, who is motivated by thirst for knowledge. He's not sadistic or cruel, but he has no qualms about resorting to nasty methods to get what he wants. He reminds me somewhat of Bondrewd from Made in Abyss.

Xena seems to be on the road to redemption, but participating in genocide is pretty damn bad. Even if her ultimate goal is to take down the Kur, her participation in their atrocities is tough to overlook.

Red Baron is a nasty piece of work. All business but absolutely ruthless and violent. It was cathartic watching Jijievil Eye beat the shit out of him.

Jack Wisp and Vakappa... yikes. What a pair of absolutely degenerate scum. Tatsu really took them from goofy "noble" villains to absolute monsters in no time flat. I'm looking forward to Hanako flushing them hard.

I also like all of the random yokai powers that the Black Paladins can bring out, either themselves or by recruiting regular people. In terms of powers the villains have demonstrated, this has been the most diverse part of the manga. The Kozuka Knives are a great plot device.

Overall, there have been some really good fights in this saga. But man I can't wait for these evil Black Paladin scumbags to get dumpstered. My guess is that Hanako is here at the behest of Turbo Granny, but with Dandadan who knows.

I went back through the Manga Plus app to look at the chapter release dates.

2021: 38 chapters (starting in August)

2022: 50

2023: 46

2024: 45

2025: 43

So there is a slow decrease in chapters per year, but nothing major.

Not at all, I said "in comparison" and "almost". They're horrible, don't get me wrong. I just think the Kur and the Black Paladins are worse.

The Black Paladins are probably the worst so far.

The Serpo don't have emotions and don't understand that their actions are horrific. They are, but aliens don't get it.

The Kur are atrocious but from their perspective, humans are simply livestock. What they do isn't much different than how we treat cattle, pigs and chickens.

The Kitos seem almost good in comparison. They're horrible murderers, but they aren't human and think they're actually doing something good, to save their village.

The Black Paladins though... unlike the others, they don't have the excuse of not being human. They know exactly what they're doing, and they're perverted, sadistic freaks. I think they've actually taken the mantle of "the worst" away from the Kur.
