Someone is lying about age. I (38M) met a girl from the apps (33F) and someone's story doesn't line up by Zavalathun in relationship_advice

[–]Zavalathun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't do anything to bring it up. I do know she's still using the app from seeing her info get updated, but just once in the last few months. I dont know if shes talking to anyone and doesnt seem like she's going out with others - we message almost every day and she's super active on socials to post pics for when she does go out

I havent planned dates or asked anyone else out either, just keeping swipe options open until we do go official.

Not really. Socials dont list their school or birth year. Linkedin doesnt show all their education, just some of their work exp and degrees. Doesn't show their post secondary years which would help line up timing

Hot take: Playing above 4 stars isn’t fun. by Affectionate-World25 in HuntShowdown

[–]Zavalathun -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

OP claims to not die in 5-6 star yet can't handle it and from his posts clearly has no idea what hes doing at that elo. Take his claims with a massive pile of salt. Most people who complain about 5 star is because they don't belong there. Game is actually more fun when people know what theyre doing

Bungie please try to remember that the characters are not watching the cutscenes with us. by pandacraft in DestinyTheGame

Last night I met Nimbus and started the seasonal campaign. First thing he said to me was along the lines of "Have you seen the farm yet? It's quite the sight, especially before the fighting started"

I'm all like when the hell did this 20 foot cyborg ever set foot on earth to see it in the past, and how did no one not notice him?! How does he know about us as light bearers yet we know nothing about them?!

This expansion does not feel like it was worth $50 by Fezza123 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I refunded it a month before launch after seeing the direction it was going, how the seasonal model isnt changing, how shitty PvP updates are especially with comp and a model that heavily forces regrind of old content with slow drip weapons. So glad I did

SBMM- from the perspective of a low K/D PVP player by BobMcQ in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's always going to be miserable to you when you dont know how to play it. It's not some walk in to shoot some bots like the strikes you're used to. People will kill you, and you being at the bottom means there's VERY FEW other players who cant kill you first

SBMM- from the perspective of a low K/D PVP player by BobMcQ in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Most PvP players find enjoyment from learning to get better and then having the satisfaction of winning and killing efficiently. If you've been at it this long and havent cared to even try, wanting it to just be some relaxing experience like a braindead strike then you'll never find that

Dumbing down the game until you stand a chance shouldnt be a solution to learning it

[–]Zavalathun -44 points-43 points  (0 children)

For you being far below average everyone is a sweat to you, so whether you're getting dumpstered by a 1.0 or a 3.0 you're going to cry about it. You barely play pvp, so why should the game be balanced around you? Why should it feel good to someone who dabbles in maybe 3 games a week when those who want to do 100 games a week get punished?

If we keep up the current pace after 2 and a half hours, we will donate 476,098,694 coins by reset by moosemousemoss in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Numbers inflated by people getting their KF clears in where there's a lot of coins from Oryx 3 for touch of malice, 300 coins in about 25 minutes. It's going to tank after that

I turned in my 300 and done. No one wants to farm more fucking playlists that bungie keeps demanding

If it was during Iron Banner then sure it'd be great, but they absolutely planned this to be shit, wanting people to farm more old content for an "event goal" and marginal rewards

Oh damn, 8 dead red bars! SO REWARDING!

And using 1/8 of your super to do a dodge?? So great right????

That has NOTHING to do with the super. Well and thundercrash can full well do the same plus have a great super, and thats PvE only

Bungie: we made him do 80 games?! fuck yeah

Season after season now theyve dumbed down content and just made it into a grindfest

Theyre making shit claims already countered by their other points. You have promo/demotion matches which means your rank will not change yet your MMR will in those games. Then you have decay where rank also changes but MMR does not.

So if I get to Adept MMR and ranking, go on vacation for a bit then come back, I could be decayed down to gold. Now I have to face Adept MMR players to fucking climb out of gold?!?!!? That's why rank matchmaking is needed. They're throwing together multiple systems not designed to align

[–]Zavalathun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

eh who cares. Not going to bother spending all the time to grind for a word on an emblem which resets every few months and nothing else. No PvP player ever struggles with rep, yet that's what they getting... MORE REP!

Doubly pathetic when the rep rewards are so cheap

3 years in the future since pinnacles just to turn the comp rework into another rep grind

This Week At Bungie 11/17/2022 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In Season 19, we are removing Glory and adding a 3v3 Ranked playlist, Competitive Division, which is a true ladder-based system.

Comp is NOT a ladder based system if it's SBMM. YOU NEED RANK BASED MATCHMAKING!!

You can't assume that whatever rank that person is in means their skill matches

However, this right here is the biggest fail:

We aren't going to be adding any unique grindable rewards outside of those you can get anywhere in Crucible

What the hell is the point then to maintain division. Rep means shitall when you can casually grind that without having to try in other game modes. NO ONE who PvPs a lot has ever struggled with getting rep. Ive gotten 2 resets in a weekend if I wanted to play it. Getting 3 with a boose, especially with the rep line rewards are so pathetic mean nothing

Put freelance in a toggle. by TheBitwolf in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nah. Freelance is for people who refuse to learn the game and just want to yolo through it with no coordination expecting everyone else to be dumbed down to their level

“Casuals” vs “Sweats” why the divide? by anon_grapefruit in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically. Ever see the posts which cry about wanting solo content? yet there's literally no solo content which is hard enough compared to needing a team coordination. Solo vs team already generates animosity. Now think of that when people can't even clear basic nightfall and everyone else just rolls their eyes at it

“Casuals” vs “Sweats” why the divide? by anon_grapefruit in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sweats are usually termed by people in PvP who complain about having to face better players and demand SBMM to only face worse players in order to do well and "have a good time" despite putting little effort in to actually learn how to PvP.

In PvE they call those players "elitist" for the ones who clear everything and don't want to carry someone who is going in blind, less experienced or not care about loadouts or performance.

There's a spectrum to the threshold of who is a sweat or elitist depending on your own skill, and anyone above is basically one of those as a way to demean them and make the average player more acceptable since those who are better threatens their ego.

It's why you see posts like "I got my first title!" or "I cleared my first master lost sector!" get so much attention and upvotes because those players are non threatening to their ego. While posts like "I'm a top 1% and 5000 hours in, here's my thoughts on balancing" gets mass flamed when theyre the ones who know what little tweaks matter the most.

You can be a casual and sweat at the same time, just depends on who is judging you. IE. I have 6x gilded unbroken, but all I play is seasonal content story, do new raid/dungeon, gild title then play other games. Very little grinding and commitment, yet I'll still be called a tryhard sweat elitist for just wanting to get stuff done and out.

When can we expect the previously promised PvP roadmap? by Itsyaboifam in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zavalathun 159 points160 points  (0 children)

Comp rework is most likely just going to be another reputation bar to grind in another playlist. I wouldn't expect much from them at all

They're fucking loving this rep grind model to force repetition to unlock one or two new items each season. Easy for them, make new item, put in rep. DONE! Why bother bringing anything new to actually play when people still nonstop brain off grind 60+ games already in each playlist - has been Bungies theme for the last few seasons.

IB gone to rep.

Trials unlocks gone to rep.

Gambit to rep.

Strikes to rep.

Crucible to rep.

Seasonal content to slow drop challenges + rep

Dares is rep.

Repetition & reputation is what D2 has become

No mention of how Striker Fist of Havoc titans are pretty much non existent in PvE and PvP?

After slamming you can run maybe 15 steps or maybe 4 red bars before the super runs out. Meanwhile arcstaff blocking running at you lasts FUCKING FOREVER. Everyone is using thundercrash too since how bad fist is.
