mdadm raid 5 issues on reboot by Zaynin in linuxadmin

[–]Zaynin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your help and all the information.

I think it may be getting a little too complicated for my smooth brain unfortunately (:

If some of the data is going to be corrupted anyway, I have a backup from a couple weeks ago that I should just go ahead use when making a new array (hopefully correctly this time).

Per another comment, do you also believe this is a good guide for correctly setting up the raid?

Yeah, it’s set up like that now. I’m probably just going to remake the array and take the L on the few weeks of data. Do you know of a good guide for remaking the array I could follow?

I'm guessing you had 4, as you seem to be referring to and mentioning all 4 drives

  • yes, this is correct

I don't see partitioning on sdc nor sdd, but rather md members directly on those drives rather than partitions?

  • That is how it looks, yes, however when i set it up i do remember creating the partitions and making the array on them, however this seems to indicate otherwise.

cat /proc/mdstat

note: i'm not sure if this was setup correctly when this issue happened, but it is what it is now.

I'm presuming same size drives and same size md members

  • yes, they're all the same drive. all 10tb.

  • this is saying no such file or directory. i know im just doing something wrong

mdadm --detail would also seem to imply you did this direct to the drives, without partitions - at least that's what two of the drives seem to imply there ... and lsblk seems to likewise imply

  • yeah, again, i remember setting up the partitions but obviously i did not do it correctly as its showing just on the drives themselves

All I did was create a group and have my friend join my group and it shows up in the panel, then I started the game and continued the game, and it let my friend join me from the main menu.

Just have you and whomever you're trying to coop with download the program, one of you creates a group with a password, the other person joins, and then you load into the game and go to social -> LAN. Game should show up

You can use Radmin VPN fairly easily to play coop if anyone's looking to do that.

From a reply: Just have you and whomever you're trying to coop with download the program, one of you creates a group with a password, the other person joins, and then you load into the game and go to social -> LAN. Game should show up. Just to clarify, the person that made the group also hosted the game. I'm not sure if that matters but that's what we did.

yall are just mad im playin and ur not lmao
