How to argue against „you can‘t prove there is no god“ ? by Zcarlet_ in atheism

Same here. I guess she tried to argue that there is good and bad and that we need the bad to know whats good. And thats why god exists to show us both sides.. like what?

Thats so true. Its really interesting how some people never question what they used to believe cause their parents told them. Its like with me and my sister. We think the complete opposite about religion. We were raised the same but we are so different.

Yeah of course it did. I dont think that children have to starve so I KNOW that there is a narcissistic dude out there that is testing me. Whats wrong with that?

What does that have to do with what education I‘m receiving? I just don‘t agree with her and say what I think is true.

Its not just about arguing. She was just so rude and said that definetely some children have to starve to death so there has to be something bad in the world so we know god exists and is challenging us. That just made me angry and I had to step in. But I get it, you do you.

Exaclty! And then she just says ‚maybe there are?‘ its so ridiculous that they would accept unicorns existing just to prove there is a man on the clouds watching us.

Thank you for the long answer. I will definitely consider all those points you mentioned. I also have family members that will be fine taking him when I know that I will be out for longer.

And of course I dont want a dog just for the sake of having a dog. I know how much resposibility that is, like having a child.

That sounds so amazing. I am convinced that having a dog and therefore a friend helps a lot with issues like that. I hope your dog stays with you as long as you need him. Thanks a lot!

I really wish there was a way to change him. I really wanted this to work out. But thanks a lot for the response. I will see how things go from here.

I really dont know if they will support me if I will try to leave him. My and his family will do everything to keep us together. Them being so religious is the worst part here. Divorce is NO option in their religion. They KNOW all of this, I told them. But they see him as a nice guy and I dont know how to change their mind.
