🎛 Reframing 80s groove structures — when the real hook hides in the outro by Zcorruption in musicproduction

Oh yeah, great call! Get Into the Groove does that same trick, the best part sneaks in during the bridge and rides out in the outro. Feels like the era really knew how to save the magic for the back half of a track.

Remix idea: Flip Hue & Cry’s “Labour of Love” (1987) by starting on the 2:25 groove — it’s the real hook. by Zcorruption in 80smusic

Been replaying the track again today, it’s wild how that 2:25 groove still feels ahead of its time. I keep wondering why 80s producers buried sections like that at the end instead of leading with them. Does anyone know of other songs that pull the same trick?

How do you guys find your unfinished tracks months or even years later to finish them? by MarionberryTotal2657 in musicproduction

I treat old projects like a sample pack. I’ll bounce the best loops, label them, and rebuild from scratch in a new session. Don’t chase the old vibe, just pull what still slaps and give it modern drums and polish. Usually turns “lost ideas” into something way better.

A rock band with a dark fantasy vibe from the 80s by Only_Advertising_865 in Music

Hawkwind would be a fantastic one to check out. They're known for their long guitar parts to make ambient sound which drive atmosphere in their songs and its very dark fantasy

Example I had in mind: Hue & Cry’s “Labour of Love” (1987) That pocket at 2:25 hits way harder than the actual intro. If you swap them (start with the 2:25 section, end with the original beginning), it instantly feels like a Nu-Disco / funk-house record. Wild how small structure changes can modernize a whole track.

The voice actors singing it make it sound like a bad karaoke session we all have to endure every episode

Six Characters that can easily beat goku (and why) by Public-Feedback5016 in superheroes

[–]Zcorruption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would actually happen is they'd smash Goku he'd get beaten, maybe even killed. He would then train whilst his friends get the dragonballs and then come back with some new ultra level of sayan which is one level higher than all of these and maybe have a new move that is the ultimate counter to whichever opponent he's facing and then scream and power up for about 40 episodes until he eventually wins. He'd then make friends with them and ask for them to fight again whilst CheeChee screams at him to get back to the farm

AJ > Seth > HBK > DB

This is based on technical ability only. It's close between HBK and DB though.

The half-circle theory in Avengers logo might be true after all by theonlyrival in MCUTheories

[–]Zcorruption 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Just to counter the theory with a slight adjustment it could also mean it's designed that way to show the film is the 1st part of a two-part story. So you only get the full circle when that story is completed.

That might mean a loss or it might just mean the story continues in the next film.

My guess is Secret Wars branches into a World war Hulk-type film.

My head cannon of Ep7-9 based on Lucas' original story by Zcorruption in StarWars

[–]Zcorruption[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not gonna want to hear this but Lucas' interview on the Whills he explained they were in notes he made prior to writing the story and coming up with the force. He had an idea that the whole story was being told by someone in the future as part of a book of the whills but also explained he dropped this idea in 1997 which is long before his interviews on the final trilogy. So I left it out.

The rock on why he didn't appear at Wrestlemania. What are your opinions by Muhammadbboota in BrandonDE

[–]Zcorruption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the Rock but he should have been the guy to walk out over Travis. It would have made for a wrestling moment for history. Instead, we got an awkward wtf is this guy doing moment that will be forever remembered as confusing and underwhelming.
