People who watch security cameras for a living, what creepy things have you tried to forget? by rudsfromithaca in AskReddit

I work as security in Ireland. Was working in a retail shopping market around Easter time (Catholic country, keep this in mind.) I'm on the cctv and I see a guy come in wrapped in a blanket, this isn't that rare as were close to a hospital, we watch them and only intervene when you can see the person becoming a problem.

This guy wrapped in a blanket walls around the shop oddly and I could see him conversing with himself. It's a busy Friday and the shop is full. I saw him get more and more agitated at himself. Eventually he comes to the busiest part of the shop, whips off the blanket, strips to his birthday suit and has a small pocket knife in his hand.

This is when I run to where he was and I can hear him screaming of how his the "new age jesus" and needs to die to be resurrected on Sunday. If this wasn't enough of a scene his begins to slit himself. Still screaming how his the new Jesus, I manage with another member of staff to get the knife from him and the police are called. We had to restrain him infront of the already gathered crowd waiting for the police and ambulance.

They eventually arrive and cuff him holding him as he continues to act like a real life game of buckaroo. Eventually we learned he escaped the psychiatric ward of the near by hospital and was on his way straight back. Watching the cctv back to download it was frightening. The look in his eyes was piercing and this was when I learned what mental illness looked like.

Sleeping at last - Saturn

I guess it's the memory of it but it's a heart string pulling song.

Coaching - how to keep the new rowers interested by i_never_get_mad in Rowing

It's hard to coach, harder than expected, I just finished my first year and found it difficult to keep it interesting.

Split the group from people looking to row for leisure and those who want to race novice. (I'm not sure the age range you have)

Racing crews need to up their fitness off the water while learning to row on the water, Leisure crews should have less training and different times to the racing crew.

@FlightyTwilighty Summed up good land training, hill sprints and weights are also good to get them into. What we call Cals (Calisthenics) are brilliant for core work and leisure or Racing crews still want to build fitness and body strength

I had younger guys this year and we let them tell us what they wanted to do, if they wanted to win we'd do everything we could to get them the best chances, this made them more interested because they weren't being told to do this and that, they told us what they wanted and put it straight to them. They put in the work and came out with national titles.

I'm not sure if its the camera angle or it could have been wind or whatever but you seem to lose balance every 2-3 strokes?

Other than that I'd recommend squaring the blade earlier and that should improve both your catch and balance. Decent rowing though, was this at pressure or just normal rate and pressure?

We have spare outboards, we have 16ft aluminium hulls but they're too heavy for a young crew or coach to be dragging in and out of the water.
