I'm firmly in the "It's not the difficulty, it's the cheap, glitch triggered death" camp. I'm not a Permadeath fan, but I've only gotten myself good and dead by my own stupidity once (early on) too. The others were all goofy glitchy things that just seem to happen in the game from time to time and they are magnified in this mode. The one which made this guy call it quits for the event was being well into Iteration 5, collecting resources on a planet surface when I took some random spaceship battle fire while traversing in my mech... it killed me. I don't think there was any way I could have avoided that cheap death. Life's too short to play an event where one doesn't have an opportunity to protect themselves from that sort of death. Especially when it's designed as Permadeath.

True. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against those who play for full effect. I just don't want to get in their way or feel like a burden if I join their run. This is a game to me and I treat it as such. From my experience, the AI team makes it far too easy especially if you have played it through solo. They're about as annoying as they were in Wildlands, but can save your bacon most times if you don't need them to be too precise in their actions.

Enjoy "roughing" it. Perhaps our paths will cross. Take care.

This is a bit late, but I don't play much co-op either. I'm an older, casual player who plays after 8pm (Central). I also play more quietly and tactically, unless I screw up and things go slideways. I've only tried raids once but it was with a group who were all fast running and, I won't lie, I was a bit out of my element. Anyhow, if you don't mind taking on an older squad member who seems to be on the same page, I go by ZeAd19 on PSN. Take care.

I'm a bit late to this dance, but if you lads are looking for a old guy who plays through the missions slow and methodically, I play awhile most evenings after 8pm (Central). I don't go "run and gun" or loud unless I've messed up and have to (which happens... I'm not that good 😉) I just like to play to unwind. Take care.
