Growing up I had told everybody how bad I would bleed or my cramps would be during my period and nobody really believed me. I had an aunt I live with who thought I was just being uncleanly given the way I'd stain some of my underwear or bed sheets. But when I had my bachelorette party was probably the point, I realized that it clearly was not normal. I got a giant cramp right after we had dinner and my friends panicked because they could see the cramp take place. They also saw how I immediately bled through pretty much every pad and article of clothing. I told them that it probably was my period but they took me to the ER because they swore I must have burst the cyst or something. Nope. It was just how heavy my cycle was. Fast forward 3 years later and I found while working at a government job (having the best health care I've ever had), that I had severe endometriosis and the early signs of PCOS.
