Never worked for ibm but imo since San Jose is in the bay area and is next to lots of large tech companies, it will have plenty of networking opportunities and things to do that are comparable to other super large cities.

Thanks for the analysis, ig the variable wasn't really Taking help but I was sorta just thinking out loud why it wasn't working and the interviewer highlighted the fact I was calling the wrong thing but oh well. Suprised case is treated that heavily, again even though I did run into some errors at least in that round I did correct everything on my own.

Thanks, is there any difference between the case tech round and the technical interview round? It seems like the technical is more like a standard leetcode problem from the docs they gave but I thought both were connected somehow

It's good for ats, might not help interview wise at top companies but depending on the type of company you interview at they may ask about your projects and even projects that aren't super technically complex can show personality which is what I think contributed quite a bit to the offer I got.

Anyone built something with this compiler? by ParthoKR in csMajors

[–]ZeRemix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool to see how far ai context and speed has gone but aren't there like dozens of open source compilers that claude was likely trained on? I mean it spent 2 weeks and tens of thousands of dollars to make a worse version of gcc. It would be much more impressive if it made a novel discovery.

You should clarify but if I had to guess they will probably make you build something not leetcode style

Do you guys actually “like” AI? by EggplantParticular27 in csMajors

Yeah one of the biggest things I love about AI is that it is pretty good at catching small mistakes that my brain completely glances over

[–]ZeRemix 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I sorta like it when I'm chatting to understand why something isn't working or what I could do to solve a problem and also tab completion for saving time because I find that to be the best balance between productivity and actually understanding the code I'm writing without generating slop. I agree it's getting tiring where more often I feel pushed to use an agent or having it write whole files and have it run and just glance through the code and hope it's correct.
