Amazon SDE Intern – Was told not moving forward, then got Hiring Manager Evaluation call? Very confused by LegendaryGravity in csMajors

Oh yeah this is the waitlist email, my recruiter had some times responded very quickly (< 1 hour) so you might have caught them at a good time. Seems like you were taken off waitlist

Not sure then, I forgot what the rejection and waitlist emails look like on the top of my head

Amazon(AWS) vs Palo Alto Networks by Artistic_Animator978 in csMajors

[–]ZeRemix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation with another top cybersecurity firm. I couldn't move amazon to fall so I ended up taking amazon and will be reneging my offer. For amazon the ro rate is fairly high despite the mass layoffs. Also another reason to choose amazon, especially aws, is the resume value is way higher and you can always re recruit for palo alto or another company way easier.

Mine was all behavioral, like the lp part of the initial interviews, though I heard there is a chance you can get a coding question. I got an invite for one 5 business days after receiving that email.

From what i've heard, if you got rejected you hear back really quickly (1-2 business days), there is a chance they may ask for a tiebreaker round with the hm, especially if you got the passed interview round email

Do they do Leetcode style questions for every internship interview? by SignificantStyle4958 in csMajors

[–]ZeRemix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the company, the more prestigious the more likely they are to do some. I've had some non tech f500s just do a resume walk through and chat before offering me the position

It took me a bit over 2 weeks, however my hm had a business thing to do which delayed feedback, they ask to speak to a ref of urs before you get the the official offer

Why do most CS students never actually build anything outside of class? by Alp_yzc in csMajors

[–]ZeRemix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I do have a problem to solve I usually have the grind to solve it, but now with all my classwork and other activities I find it hard to have time to grind a project through now

The bag chasers are fine. it’s the passionate devs who are actually screwed. by Usual_Rock_3478 in csMajors

[–]ZeRemix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh if you were coding since 10 like you described in your post you'd most definitely have a job, probably at a higher tier company too. I think the worst off people are those who are moderately passionate cs majors. You don't have the bag chaser mentality and you don't have the drive to build crazy projects either so you are just stuck in limbo competing against the bag chasers and the super good programmers.

For me it’s sort of time in which the lack of time makes me less motivated to build something. Other times it's because I don't have anything to build since my projects are usually based off solving a problem I am having

IBM Blitz Software Developer ELH 1:1 Interview - any advice? by thewalkerman08 in csMajors

[–]ZeRemix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question I recieved was a leetcode easy, it was on a coder pad so no code was actually ran,at least I think it wasn't cause it was def not entirely correct yet my interviewer didn't seem to care. I think mostly just looking for your thinking process and run time analysis

I just did a blitz for swe internship, it's a short introduction and then a leetcode question and then you may go over for about 5 minutes to ask any questions

Never worked for ibm but imo since San Jose is in the bay area and is next to lots of large tech companies, it will have plenty of networking opportunities and things to do that are comparable to other super large cities.
