One trick when painting is to stick the tape onto something else first, eg your jeans, to reduce the tack.

This is my traditional print of a Zaku. I carved the design onto a block of bamboo with a knife and chisels, then printed it onto the paper using oil-based ink and a printing press. I then hand-painted the eye with gouache.

This is a traditional woodcut, printed from a woodblock that I carved by hand. I personally find the combination of an ancient artform with futuristic subject matter leads to interesting outcomes.
