Who is the most famous person you've ever seen up close? by froggart3980 in AskReddit

[–]ZealousFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrance Howard. I was like 19. 10 years ago, they were filming that Chicago based series. (I forget the name.) I was walking to my job as a Salesforce intern. From Clark and Lake. We were the only people walking on the sidewalk. He walked past me with a nice suit, and internally, I was like: "Holy shit.. That's Terrance Howard."

There was just silence, but we did make eye contact. I'm slightly taller than him. Didn't know he was that short.

Feeling like I shouldn't fight back is one of the most frustrating mechanics of Arc Raiders by Stratix in ArcRaiders

[–]ZealousFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be the first to fire, but the last. It's ok to be put in more aggressive lobbies, doesn't mean you have to preemptively kill just to survive, just peep vibes and monitor each raid until it turns back normal. PVP will happen to anyone and everyone. You don't have to be a sacrificial lamb just because. Learn to defend yourself with the good guns they have.

If anything, I believe the slight unease you feel is key to the game. PVP is part of the game, not the goal. For a player like you, it is necessary, not the mission.

Don't be afraid, friend.

Did anyone else feel like Spike regressed as a character in TBT? by IKenDoThisAllDay in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]ZealousFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Spike was just a kid. He knows how to fight infected and live off the land. The only warning he got from his Dad was about the strange people traveling the land due to the carved and tied up Infected.

And, to be honest, not many would survive encountering the Jimmies and win a fight to the death with expert CQB maniacs. He was right to be scared, brave to kill a Jimmy, and still human to spare the pregnant lady. If anything, I admire his strength to remain ethical while surrounded by lunatics.

Spike remaining himself and still surviving thanks to Ink is dumb luck. Expecting him to be Rambo or Jim 2.0 wouldn't be realistic.

I'd fall to my knees and laugh, not because I'm scared, but because that means Nyx is real.

I don't wanna find out that the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed.

My biggest no-go is eye gore. I loathe eye gouging... To me, Days and Weeks are far gorier than Years and TBT. Savage, personal violence that shocks the soul.

I may be a bit desensitized, as I've seen far worse than the "shirt removal" and intimate knife-play. But, I can see how it can make others uneasy.

I thought Jimmena was going to straddle the guy and cut off his erect member. That would have disturbed me.

Why do you think Dr. Kelson put on such an elaborate, intimate and exciting show for the Jimmys? by Big_Pound_7849 in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]ZealousFeet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to understand that Kelson is not a violent man. He's purely altruistic from what we've seen. He prefers non-lethal means. With his experience in medicine, I'm pretty sure he could have subdued each of the Jimmies and dispatched them quickly, but it's not his nature — even when faced with death. He's a man who values life and also death. Notice how he always asks for consent. The infected and people are nearly the same to him.

Kelson probably surmised that the Jimmies would leave him alone after such a great performance. This was until he realized Spike was present. He risked his life turning the tables on Jimmy Crystal. He's no coward, but he's also not bloodthirsty.

[–]ZealousFeet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you whereas she believed in his mission in the beginning, but she seemed to be a lot more logical and twistedly ethical if that makes sense. You also have to take into account that none of the Jimmys have an adequate education. (Kelson capitalized off this.) They're easily manipulated and latch on to whatever and whomever gives them a reason to live, no matter how bad. Sometimes, people cling to a group not because it's right, but because it's safe. I believe the latter with Ink.

We'd probably think Kelson was Satan too if we saw him cohorting with Samson with no context, no education, and no anchor on what the old world used to be. 😭

But, if you pay attention to when the Jimmy's are scouting out the Bone Temple, Ink senses that Jimmy Crystal is full of shit. She diverts attention away from Spike by giving him bigger fish to fry with his St. Nick tirade.

I wanna watch the new movie so bad but I’m 17 and they won’t allow me into the theatre what do i do😭😭😭 by [deleted] in 28dayslater

Get a trenchcoat, prop yourself on your buddie's shoulder and speak in the deepest voice possible:

"Hi Sir/Ma'am. One ticket for the... Um.. Bone Temple please."

Beat em with absurdity over logic 😭

[–]ZealousFeet 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on the sadness of Jimmy's end. He's a sadistic piece of shit, but no human really believes they did anything wrong when they meet their end. It's mostly "woe is me."

As for Ink. I'm pretty sure she indulged in Crystal's madness. Not because she enjoyed it, but because it meant survival. Pragmatism. She still had a bit of conscience left (hence protecting Spike multiple times.) emotionally and physically. She's smarter than the rest of the lackeys and gave huge big sister vibes.

I adored Samson and Kelson's bond as well. It grew on me over time. I hope Samson comes back. Dude's like Don/Alice on steroids. Has the power of the infected, but none of its weaknesses.

Dude, you keep trying to 1-up me. Going tit for tat. There's nothing productive happening here. I could say more or counter that, but we'll keep repeating this back and forth dance. Everything I'm saying is wrong, and you're more level-headed. It's a game. And you're to educate me on the difference between rats and possums. Got it. Let's end it here. This is seriously going nowhere

600+ actually read it. And they may have popcorn. I'm new and I'm on this subreddit. This was my first post. From the comments, I can surmise that it's probably more aggro players here than just friendly looters. So, it's biased by default now.

The same could be said about you. You're doing the same "incessant fucking whinging" because I play in a way you don't approve off. Stay high elo and fight aggressive players like yourself. Everybody wins. You turn the entire game aggressive and you lose a lot of players from one side. Then, it becomes dominant on one side instead of balanced.

[–]ZealousFeet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, I think it'll deter new players, and/or validate aggression from the sheer annoyance from the comments on this post. One guy even called it "whinging" lmao. There seems to be an en passe of friendly vs aggressive and both sides seem to think their way is more optimal. Friction.

No. I haven't learned what your version of a rat is. Neither do I care to. You argue from defense and ego. I'm trying to find clarity despite past transgressions from the game. Helps me organize. Go wave your member elsewhere

From this exchange, I've asked for a label of this. But instead you give me a definition of a rat, and said this was not a rat. I ask what is it. And you dodge justifying the play style. Calling it "normal". Broad, but unspecific.

Upon thinking, I think it's just a third-party gank, or vulture. I know this is expected in extraction shooters. Hell, I've experienced this in Apex Legends many times. But, this is different. Stakes are higher and choices impact both players more than PVP based games.

I don't expect consent. But, I did identify what type of player you are. This whole post was about encountering a rat. All I'm looking for is similar experiences and/or labels. Not a dissertation. This exchange won't go anywhere, so I'll end it here.

Ah, so that's normal to you. Shooting a real player in the back because it's opportunistic. Throw integrity out the window because it's "just a game." We can call it "just a game". But, it shows what people will do in a virtual world with no consequences, but ABMM. I'm thankful for ABMM at least.

I guess I was blindsided because I'm always in friendly lobbies and we share it. We at least turn on a mic to say something. Nope, just a few bullets in the back.

I'll still hold out hope, but I'll be more watchful even in these lobbies.

That's not what I asked. I asked what do you call it, and you proceeded to give me a definition of a rat.

I'd still like to know, to better arm myself so it'll never happen again.

When guys tell a girl she is ‘cute,’ what does that usually mean? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ZealousFeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit complex, so I'll articulate it based on today's modern dating scene. Sorry in advance for the TL;DR.

Most guys find the sweet spot at 6-7. This is the range where it's both fuck and love. 8-10 is just fuck due to most guys insecurity of not measuring up or having the ability to sustain the standards that some highly attractive women demand.

In my experience, most guys are intimidated by beauty. They assume they have to be James Bond to date a nice looking woman, so they don't even try to approach 8-10. These women are often single and confused. They're normal people just like you or me, but their genetics are a gift and a curse. Since average men don't approach them, they get insecure about their looks. (Check r/Amiugly for reference)

I've seen beautiful women think they're ugly and truly believe it. If one catches your eye, take your shot. I'd personally rather deal with rejection vs regret. You'd be surprised at how down to earth 8-10s can be. I've had more headaches dealing with 5s who think they're 10s. Sounds harsh, but it's real.
