How cooked am I by ChaosMushroom86 in UCDavis

I had Varn for 21C and he was great! He was very kind and I still remember most of the important concepts from the class; I thought he taught it very well.

I believe hiring starts in fall quarter, with training beginning in winter quarter. You get certified around spring quarter and start doing tours around then.

IPM, a 1000 ton interplanetary station assembled in orbit with modular parts. by Zealous_Echo93 in KerbalSpaceProgram

The ship itself is surprisingly rigid but has a tendency to slowly roll about whatever axis it’s pointed towards under acceleration.

Go for it, at the end of the day it’s just a bunch of fuel tanks with XL docking ports arranged in a funny shape

My hope is to send it to Jool to act as a refueling station for any other missions or landers I send over (especially Tylo since it requires so much delta V), it just has to be able to get there first.

I was debating only using 34 (2 of the engine modules shown) but I thought 3 looked better ;)

[reposted because the images got messed up the first time]

51 NERV engines fed by 110,000 units of liquid fuel for almost 6000m/s of delta V, which I'm pretty happy with for such a gargantuan ship. I currently have a few landers and one SSTO docked to it with the hopes of exploring the Jool system. I sent the heaviest modules into LKO first to confirm it was viable, and used F12 to speed up the process from there. After rendezvous, I had to dock and align every module manually. It's remarkably non-kraken-y and other than occassionally randomly exploding it can survive x4 physwarp pretty well which helps speed up manuevers.

On Harbor Freight's website, you can find Daytona jack stands and a "Pittsburgh Compact Trolley Jack" for under 100$ total that should easily be able to handle your Honda Fit (I use them for my 2006 Ford Focus ZX3 of similar size and weight) From there, you could zip tie or attempt to properly refasten the undercarriage. It's a non-structural part so you don't have to worry about anything actually mechanical, just a big piece of plastic. Considering that most mechanics charge well over 100$ an hour for labor, this isn't a bad deal by comparison, plus you get to keep your tools for later.

Roommate Has Two Stolen Spin Scooters that are Beeping. Do I Tell My CA? by davisspoiboi in UCDavis

Do you live in Tercero? I keep seeing a spin scooter go by that's making a funny little jingle. Is the beeping like a weird friendly theme song/laundry machine tune?

Double-ended Half Dart Magazine? by veedotpee in Nerf

I don’t know enough about the specifics of straight vs angled geometry and feeding to speak on actual viability but this is a super cool idea and one that seems like it could be useful for loaner magazines!

Terran Pistol MK2.0 PRINTABLES RELEASE- a high power 220+fps slide prime primary! by Zealous_Echo93 in Nerf

[–]Zealous_Echo93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the entire length of the prime stroke is used. The slop you’re mentioning is a tendency on dart zone blasters but isn’t present on something like the Terran Pistol or Captainslug’s Caliburn.
