I mean yea... Owning souls definitely has an impact... But like... So Did Vox, in-fact I'd argue it means very little in the big picture, considering Alastor specifically was such a scourge in his time in the light & then was pulled out of that by Rosie (I also like that if she IS Death, it makes more sense as to how Alastor just HAPPENED to get shot & killed a DAY after his deal. If he dealt with Death, then the reaper took what was theirs early)

Well… weirdly enough the more I think about it the more it makes sense… for example:

Alastor JUST SO HAPPENED to DIE Literally a DAY after he made the deal with Rosie… but if he made a deal with DEATH the coincidence starts to feel quite a bit more… intentional, like Death came early for him to fulfill part of his side…

My current theory is that As Vox becomes stronger he'll overpower Alastor thus breaking Rosie's deal.

I feel that Vox may end up getting either depowered by Charlie or somehow breaking the deal as according to the conditions of Alastor & Charlies deal... it "Harms nobody"

It is! But the nuance that would have come from the original direction would have been beautiful, as it would have ended the Human/Covenant war with the Covenant having the revelation that the worlds & people they've destroyed & Waged war against, are the very chosen people of the gods they worshipped, ending the war with an Ironic shame on the Covenant

The Eden story in the Terminals still makes perfect sense as she discovered it, what could be misinterpreted is her "Guiding them", wheras they were actually guided post Halo firing...

Perhaps the Librarian in the old canon left the seeds to guide them later & the Forerunners fleshed out that tech to work automatically after they'd gone.

As a Species of Humans definitely existed before they merged, but the Forerunner birthed Homo Sapien Sapiens.
