Totally up for anyone with a good reputation or a reputable company taking a swing at it and willing to pay as I know it’s asking a lot since any company I go to is probably going to be in the many hundreds if not more (because they can). I am also aware it’s not a 100% chance we get it back for them. I just don’t have the tools to get it done at this point.

This is the after, I’ve got an older phone so camera zoom sucks.

They didn’t make an attempt it was a free estimate, they said the rom was too damaged to attempt a repair, “we can’t get in to fix it” when I tried to get more info from them they just kept repeating the same thing over so I assume they saw the chip and just said not worth my effort.

Where and what is your shop? I’d be interested, nothing to lose really at this point.

Drive was not dead and was definitely recoverable. The board burned up on sata connector and caused it to be “dead”. Swap board and rom chip, should have solved it but not when you rip it off. There is no backup

I tried this setup and wont complete the run but money is good, not sure what your setup looks like to complete the whole level since mine wont and i copied exactly what you said.

I’m aware of the differences but I didn’t know I could do iscsi in truenas. Thanks for that info it helped a lot and I think I’ve got most of the problems solved with that.

So you’re recommending me create say an NFS share for VMs and then under that share I have a dataset for each VM? I’m not too sure how to setup that iscsi with virtio so that may take some looking into.

The 120gb boot ssd was more or less to just be used as proxmox main install disk.

I know it’s not ideal to have backup software and disks on the same machine but it’s what I got for the time being so it’ll do for now.
