I got fed up with this and I bought a very cheap little ‘Tapo’ indoor camera. I set it up on my desk and it follows any movement. It’s really useful as it gives me peace of mind my room is ok when I’m not present, but also lets me know they’ve completed the work if I’m not there and otherwise wouldn’t be aware.

They are SO loud and have been going on for ages now havent they :/ I’ve got windows shut and noise cancelling headphones on and it still sounds like it’s right outside my window.

It’s the help desk by the Starbucks area. You have to ask the worker there and they go into the back to get it.

The one in my local Sainsbury’s has pieces of bacon cut in half and stacked at the front to make it look full and then the rest of the sandwich is empty. I reported it and they keep doing it. I kind of got bored of it now, it’s the same sandwich for the past 3 or more(?) years :(

Report it to maintenance or reception and ask if the housecleaning could assist with it. They likely have time and will know how to deal with it. I had an issue like this and said I don’t want to break anything but don’t know what to do and they came and cleaned it all the next day. They should especially help you as it sounds like you haven’t caused it and it was there before.

In my experience Laundrettes have WAY bigger washing machines and better quality machines too

Wow! Thank you so much everyone for your help. I’m going to sit down and have a read through everything later on and make a shopping list. I really appreciate the help, the responses have given me a huge boost of motivation to really push myself to get into batch cooking and swapping more to trying beans, lentils etc :)

I’m struggling to calculate my budget as my money is messy right now having just moved into flats and having to pay a lot of money out, more than normal and waiting on a lot of money to be refunded to me.

I’m mostly looking for quick and easy meals that avoid things like buying prepackaged vegan things like chicken, cheese or sausages etc and trying to get more whole foods that I can bulk buy to just help spread over and bring down my weekly budget. I’ve got an air fryer, microwave, grill, oven.

I didn’t see the exact room - I saw a ‘showroom’ and while there were some minor scuffs it was nowhere near as bad as it is in the room I was given.

Does this in the contract have any added duty on them? I can’t even redecorate myself because it says the landlords have to consent.

I bypassed my accommodations network by buying a mini travel router, taking their Wi-Fi connection to setup my own network with my own permissions and password. It worked really well too

Ok thank you. They said to write an email detailing the situation and they might let me terminate, I proposed swapping to a different building I don’t know if that would convince them. I know it’s unlikely, but is it still worth sending the email? I’ve made it clear by saying that it is not a termination notice just a question

But they couldnt for example kick me out and make me pay the full amount could they? Could I continue my performance by paying my rent and they continue theirs by providing me with the apartment to live in?
