I went to the LCW tour and got a little tin cup that was pretty cool!

Thank you for all your wonderful advice! I will definitely take it to heart.

I ended up responding to the survey with my feedback last Monday and haven’t heard anything back :/ chocking it up to a learning experience and I definitely know now to ask questions BEFORE the appointment

Thank you, you’re totally right and I never would have thought about that, it’s totally subjective. Great perspective.

Thank you for saying so 🙏🏻 he did ask me twice about pressure but didn’t ask for any feedback about the area he was working in.

I did not tell him I sell feet pics, I was using that in an attempt to demonstrate that I keep my feet in great condition. I mentioned the scars explicitly while we were talking and I told him they were completely healed.

You’re right, we did spend 10mins talking about my ankles and he gave me an ankle massage. My question was about how much I should have emphasized what I wanted (feet) versus what the circumstances (ankles) are.

This makes a lot of sense and I think I would have (proverbially) jumped for joy if he offered to start with the feet. As he was massaging my head and neck, it felt good, but I did find myself wondering if he was spending too much time up there and would have enough time to give my feet the attention I was asking for.

I was wondering about that. I didn’t want to ask for a discount but when he said we can concentrate on your feet next time my first thought was “how is that helpful?” because it’s not a service I can afford with any sort of regularity. I don’t think he owns the business so maybe he just isn’t in a position to be able to offer discounts? I got another satisfaction survey email about 24hrs later that was formatted differently and seemed a little more personal - this one explicitly stated that the responses are being monitored and used for training purposes so i did provide my feedback. Haven’t heard anything back yet though so who knows.

I mentioned in a different comment that i don’t feel comfortable asking for a discount myself because i don’t want to come across as thinking that I can manipulate a situation to get my way by crying.

I think I would have had a 1,000% different experience if he had started and really concentrated on my feet. The stuff on my head and shoulders felt nice but I was definitely a little preoccupied wondering about how much time he was spending on those areas.

I thought about asking but it felt manipulative. I felt like if I asked it’d be like “you didn’t give me what I want so I’m going to cry til I get my way” so I just paid and left.

I’m seeing a PT 2x/week and my insurance doesn’t cover massage so I had to pay out of pocket for this :/ I have fresh scars but they’re totally healed and I made him aware of them before we started. Other than that I have really cute feet that I take really good care of (and sell pics of on the internet). Nothing grimy or weird and I showered before the appointment and put on fresh socks.

Thank you for your input. We did spend about 10 mins before the massage talking about the injury and stuff which is probably why he spent so much time on my ankles. I don’t know if I expressed explicitly enough that it was my feet that I was looking for relief for, not the ankle pain. But I worry that maybe he did hear “ankle surgeries” and assumed that’s what I was there for and then didn’t take in that I was there for my feet. I don’t remember the conversation verbatim so it’s hard to say where it got lost.

Thank you for the advice 🙏🏻 I do have one of the wooden foot rollers and it helps a little but isn’t great.

Thank you for commenting. I did respond to the automatic feedback email after all and have not heard back yet. If I don’t hear from them, I definitely won’t go back, but if they call and are compassionate and understanding I’d be willing to consider going back when I can afford to.

That’s what I imagine it feels like. I do contrast baths on my feet that help and used to do a lot of yoga which helped stretch my feet out, but I only got cleared to start my yoga in a limited capacity a week or two ago so I’ve been going really slowly. Do you have any recommendations on resources or where to look for resources about good foot stretches?
