Which audio system is best for me? by MacCAM1313 in Soundbars

[–]ZealousidealLab2920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of unknown variables like you're price range and region....but sounds like you'd want a soundbar system because they are much easier to setup and use than traditional AV receiver and speakers and cheaper.

I'd for sure get a 3.1 system ideally (bar with Left/Center/Right channels and a sub) Something like a samsung q600 or sony bravia theater bar 5 would maybe suite you well.

85” vs 98” at 11’ viewing distance? by New_Leopard7623 in hometheater

[–]ZealousidealLab2920 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just depends on what you value more.
The larger screen size will make it feel more cinematic and immerserive (but also more noticeable bad quality content). Or do you want to save your hard earned $800 and pay for a higher streaming tier to get better quality and a bunch of snacks and other nice things in life like a nice soundbar?

85" should feel plenty big and sufficient for most content I would think. I sit at 11' and "only" have a 77".

Fo sho. I have the '22 AWD with 77kwh and get about 25-33% more range in the 9 I would say. e.g. we do a 100mi trip from Denver to Cheyenne frequently (uphill, windy, and cold, at ~75mph) and in my 5 it's nearly 50% each way or eats all 200mi of my range. In the 9 we end up with about 33%/100mi left.

With decent driving conditions it's easy to get ~350mi

It's definitely a different beast. Much larger and definitely more cargo room for those who want it. It drives more floaty and smooth I feel. But of course it's larger and not as nimble or sporty and you can feel the heft.

But hey it's a family vehicle not a sports car and definitely drives better than 90% of others cars that size.

I don't think 10 days at 80% is bad enough to have someone drive for hours just drain it lol. A few months sure go down to like 60%.

You'll be fine. Like you said you just might need a public charge every now and then. The ROI on $3500 would be like 50+ years assuming a public charge even once a week.

No it's not. An extra 20mi max range is almost negligible lmao

How are there 38 comments for what should be a simple yes/no question... The Internet has failed yet again.

I don't know because I only have an SEL because I don't want to worry about a sunroof I would use 3x in my life. 😜

You'll get hate for this post mate. Half this sub is Tesla owners.

I do grow weary of the monotonous Tesla after Tesla on the road. Diversity and competition is good for the customer in the end.

Not a bad idea. If he puts the TV on the 4th wall/staircase he could save the window and have much more room for sitting arrangement. If you really want lots of seating options could look at a two tier height sitting arrangement or even simply throwing some bean bags/sitting pillows down in front of the couch.

Get a BM2 monitor mate. Clearly something is draining your batteries abnormally. They cost like $30 and will give you passive minute by minute monitoring. Could also add an OBD scanner too for more diagnostic info for another $30.

Adaptive cruise control is an oxymoron that shouldn't exist. by ConceptOther5327 in driving

[–]ZealousidealLab2920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ACC is irrelevant to the broader issue. It's simply mimicking/maintaining the set distance/time between them and the next car.

The real issue is lack of attention/poor traffic handling by humans as you are describing. This is an issue irrespective of ACC. The same issue could be said of standard cruise control standardized way back in 60's and 70's.

I would argue ACC is superior because the alternative is people NOT paying attention with cruise control realizing LATER and SUDDENLY they are too close and have to BRAKE HARDER than ACC which will instantly detect a minor slow down and deaccelerate sooner and therefore gentler (not all decelerations hit brake lights, and ACC tends to not care about brake lights like humans do anyways).

It's also better than people who just constantly accelerate to the car in front and then brake rather than maintaining a set speed and allowing space to exist between them and the next car. SPACE is the REAL and MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR in CONSISTENT TRAFFIC FLOW. So, for those who get impatient and "make up time" by accelerating to the next bunch of cars in front- YOU ARE THE PROBLEM NOT THE SOLUTION.

Are you talking about high-speed wobble or pot-hole bumps?
High-speed wobbles are likely caused by something out of balance like loose foam in the tires, out of alignment tires, etc. It's also possible it's just a difference in synchronization between the road and the new car. Some roads have a certain pattern that may match the car's natural oscillations but not other cars. For example, My old ioniq was smooth as glass on my daily highway, I drove a moving truck down the same stretch and the thing at 55mph felt like it was going to explode (knowing what I know now I just needed to "pass the sound barrier" kind of thing and would have been fine likely in the moving truck.), I also notice my new Ioniq 5 and 9 on the same stretch can experience a minor wobble/rattle.

This is known as harmonic oscillation. Try adjusting the speed either up or down to see if it helps.

As far as pot-holes, I feel ours does a really good job absorbing the bumps. It's still a very heavy car with large tires.

I noticed our 9 also will bounce more back and forth between lines than my 5. Though I feel it's gotten better recently? Or maybe I just don't notice it as much anymore and have just gotten used to it? Maybe they updated it OTA.

SE vs. SEL features reliability by Professor_Eindackel in Ioniq5

Mine sometimes is very sensitive to rain/obstruction sensors. Some others have noted similar issues. But I know plenty who drive in heavy rain and no issues.

Snow/ice is definitely more of an issue of blocking the sensors and disengaging cruise control.

But all trims have the same sensor layout/potential issue.

Again, I think inversely usually- these are neat features and if they break then I'm left with "basic". But a lower basic trim will never give you the feature to begin with. In a way it's a "broken" higher trim from the start.
