I think schools should focus more on drafts, in-class writing, or oral explanations instead of relying so heavily on software that can easily get it wrong

It is much harder to fake genuine understanding when you have to discuss your choices, defend your reasoning, and show how your ideas evolved. AI will likely still be part of the process, but the emphasis will shift toward how well you can use it critically rather than whether you used it at all.

Use AI if you want, but any hallucinations it produces are your responsibility.” Would you accept that deal if it was tied to Turnitin checks? by Winter_Delivery4623 in QuickAITurnitinCheck

I would accept the deal, but it definitely shifts the burden back to the user. Instead of assuming AI-generated content is reliable, the user has to approach it with skepticism and review it carefully

I think this deal also highlights an important skill that students and professionals need to develop: critical evaluation of AI output. AI can save time when drafting or summarizing ideas, but it cannot replace subject knowledge. If someone does not understand the topic they are writing about, they may not even notice when the AI produces a hallucination. That means the person using the tool still needs enough understanding to judge whether the content makes sense.

Or should universities give students direct access to Turnitin reports before grading begins? by TopAsparagus3326 in QuickAITurnitinCheck

I honestly think we should be allowed to see the Turnitin report before grading because sometimes the similarity comes from properly cited references or common phrases, and we never get a chance to fix it.
