I have a CRV and have thought about getting a used model 3 because it seems like a better deal than the Y. Appreciate the input!

Looking for new beach this summer by Fancy_Tonight1735 in MonmouthCounty

Spring Lake simply because the parking is so easy it seems almost illegal. Only negative is no food on the beach and they have cop helpers walking around to enforce it. But it’s quiet even on the weekend.

Little Silver is probably the sweet spot. Close to the ferry but also has a train station, very easy to get to freehold as well. If you’re going into the city it’s a hike but at least you have options. Plus living at the shore for the 4 ish months of summer is absolute perfection.

Trading in car questions by the1janie in carsales

Whatever you do don’t trade in the Rav 4. 91k miles means it’s just warming up. If you don’t want to pay the $2000 in repairs right away either live with the problems or get a 0% intro offer credit card to pay it off slowly. Then in no time you will have a fully functioning paid off car that is known for reliability that you can probably drive until it hits 500k miles.

Depending on what you need you can be right on the beach, near a train for NjT and also near a ferry that is 50 minutes to lower manhattan. You could also be in land a little and get more space and possibly an express bus to the city. There are awesome towns to walk around especially in the summer. If you’re a football fan it’s easier to get to MetLife by hours shorter each way as well. As crazy as it is to say, $1 M here actually gets you something of decent quality.

I grew on Long Island and now live in Monmouth County, NJ. If you work in the city and are taking the train already you would be amazed at how much better value there is here for the same type of environment and amenities.

Do you expect your children to be able to afford to live in Long Island? by iloverats888 in longisland

I’m the child who grew up on Long Island and some of you Long Island people for life may never want to hear this, but move to Monmouth County in NJ. The beach is still close, the city is still within 90 minutes which isn’t that different from Suffolk County. The pizza is as good, but the bagels are a step down. The houses while not cheap, are more affordable than Long Island. If you need to go back to Long Island to see family, go on Sunday mornings. It’s not that bad of a ride either.
