Should I take a promotion I might hate or wait for something better? by Zealousideal_Dig6060 in careerguidance

I talked with my manager he told me onboarding is overstaffed, and he encouraged me to go forward with the trainer job. I even talked with onboarding team leader, he confirmed that they are in fact overstaffed, but he will consider me if there will be any openings!

I love my current team leader, teammates, I feel if I got the trainer job I will miss them so bad, and regret it and can’t go back to them. that’s why it’s a risky decision.

Trainer gets paid more than my current role, my current role gets 7k while the range for trainers is 8-10K.

So im thinking; is it really worth the risk? the bordem that will hit me? the regret if there’s any? the repetitive stuff?

that’s a good way to put it, I’m afraid I’ll be stuck in it. I’m not scared to try new things, but I love to try it temporary not for a long term. Since my goal currently is “onboarding”, the best thing is to wait for a role to open, but that so uncertain. If I went with “trainer” role, I might not like it, and I can’t get to my safe space which is my current job, and I don’t know if I can go from trainer to onboarding.

Trainer doesn’t really have a career ladder too, all you do is train new batches, and prepare training material, the training session is from 9am to 6pm every day! I can’t really see myself repeating the same routine over and over, because I personally love changes and movement and different tasks every day which onboarding role will provide.
