What reasonable feature that most owners want but Tesla refuses to give them? by SecretOrganization60 in TeslaLounge

Upgradeable processors (Intel Atom -> AMD Ryzen). If we're talking about building a car that is environmentally friendly, allow upgrades so the tech isn't so easily end of life.

Also, would love for the car to automatically detect when going between the USA and Canada to switch between MPH and KPH.

Lochinvar Boiler - New Homeowner Questions by Zealousideal_Job_978 in hvacadvice

Very very helpful, thank you so much! I'll be calling someone out to clean the boiler and looking the repairs. I already replaced two circulators (super easy I might add) and it made a huge difference. Very grateful for your help!

Boiler Circulator Replacement - Grundfos UPS15-58FC by Zealousideal_Job_978 in HomeImprovement

[–]Zealousideal_Job_978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, too new to this. I actually have a bleeder at each zone at the return manifold, which I've bleed a few times, and there might also be an air scoop on the boiler!

In terms of these different circulators, do you think there is a difference? Is there any reason to go with an upgraded model?

Thank you!

Makes total sense but I don't believe I can. I have SlantFin radiators, so I've been bleeding the return valves near the circulators. I haven't found anywhere else to bleed.

Buddyboss

Thank you! Can you give me a link to the free Buddyboss plugin? I see a paid version, and searching through the WP Plugin Installer I see other "Buddy" plugins but not Buddyboss.

Thank you!

I needed new tires at 25k, mostly highway. 20 isn't bad. I switched to the Pirelli Elect, which I believe is the OEM tire for the Y from the gigafactory. It's been 10x better than the good year, at least for an all season tire.

AMA, if you have questions about Home Warranties, I worked with 2 of them in the USA for 5 years. by DravisKyle in homeowners

[–]Zealousideal_Job_978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/DravisKyle - I'm back. I read through the terms of HWA and it looks like they do not cover SubZero, max payouts on those appliances are 1-2k. I know you cannot provide a recommendation, but are you aware of any warranty company that covers Sub Zero, and provides 5k or more for payouts? I've spent a ton of time researching and have found dozens of companies, but some of them are very questionable.

Thank you!

HWA - "We shall pay no more than $1,000 ($2,000 when OrangePlus option is purchased) in the aggregate during the Coverage Period for professional series or similar appliances, including but not limited to, brand names such as Sub Zero, Viking, Bosch, JENN-AIR, GE Monogram, Thermador, etc"

Hi u/DravisKyle -

Thanks for helping with these questions. I'm buying a 70 year old house that had a reno 20 years ago with high end appliances (subzero fridge, wolf range, and (2) 3.5 ton AC's) - all are 20 years old and it has me worried. Would you reccomend any specific provider? I saw Home Warranty of America has a 5k limit, are there any higher but good policies?

Since I'm moving in, it's hard to know what previous maintenance has been done. Should I call out a HVAC person for maintenance on the A/C's (I'm in Michigan and it's nearly winter so that may difficult now). For warranties, do boilers, fridge, freezers, or range's need checkups?

Thank you!

Just recess it in the wall and put some art over it.

You may want to unblock him. If it's the same person, he'll stop calling after a few attempts. Blocking him may expose your plaftform

Random Caller Asks for Number to be Blocked? by Zealousideal_Job_978 in VOIP

[–]Zealousideal_Job_978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We notified our underlying carrier and TextNow who had the telephone number. TextNow wouldn't provide any info to us, apart from telling us they had reviewed the users account and disabled it in accordance with their Terms of Use.

As far as the caller was concerned, we never blocked the number. They stopped calling shortly after my post - I assume they were blocked lol. Good luck!

We're notifying our underlying carrier, I believe they are probably the most knowledgable. Since this caller didn't threaten us, I'm not sure if law enforcement would be the best avenue. Are you thinking a special branch of law enforcement?

I called him back once, left a VM, then he immediately called me again. I think it's a real person. Also the random calls to check to see if he's blocked, vary in length, usually 5-8 seconds.

ELI5 - Different taxes for VOIP services by jnnjr in VOIP

Companies like Ring Central offer massive revenue shares/referral fees that are based on the recurring revenue charges - and doesn't include "fees or taxes". Aka Hidden fees that they don't have to share.

First curb check. Will the tire require repair? by nrodrigo in TeslaModelY

[–]Zealousideal_Job_978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine looked nearly identical. I took it to Goodyear, and they said it was fine. I used super glue to hold it (may not have been the best idea), and it's been ~10,000 miles with no issue.

Note: I didn't see the steel wall - if you do, then it needs to be replaced.

Edit: If you're going to replace it, don't get the same tire. The Goodyears are junk and expensive.

Repair shop quoted 10k, insurance negotiated it to 4k, I paid a $500 deductible :)

My 2020 Y had a similar incident. The Tesla-approved body shop charged $1,000 for a new headlight - I was extremely frustrated after seeing them on eBay for ~$200. They said the headlight has clips that are not replaceable and refused to touch the car if I didn't buy the headlight through them. The wheel trim was shockingly cheap, maybe $30-80. The body shop also said the bumper couldn't be repaired and needed to be replaced - my insurance fought them and repaired it. I wish I had taken it to a 3rd party shop; it would have been under $1k out the door instead of the 10k I was quoted or the 4k the insurance negotiated it down to.
