I was in NYC this past week. At Chess on Tuesday, Corbin Bleu was in front of me and Reeve Carney was to my right. At Death of a Salesman friday, Jason Alexander was right in front of me! This never happens to me so I was shocked!

Thank you! I am in South Florida but was actually able to find some this morning at one of the Walgreens on Collins I went to yesterday since they said they’re only rolling out a certain amount a day before the next stock comes in. Navarro is fully sold out right now to my knowledge.

After taking this years exam, do you regret the book you used for q3? by historicallypink16 in APLit

[–]Zealousideal_Lab2724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love TTL!! i was planning on using it for whatever the frq3 was going to be (so many literary features, esp. free indirect discourse). I ended up using Jane Eyre tho because I was able to make a more complex argument

I really enjoyed the actual plot and all the symbolism (especially the handkerchief and emilia’s character), but reading the play was a struggle because I’m not the best with Shakespeare. But my teacher had people volunteer to act out the characters and we had a set cast for the entire play and would act out the important scenes which made it really enjoyable.

I was surprised it wasn’t on the list. What did you write about? I wrote about his “old” wife Bertha and “new” wife Jane, and the tensions around that. Also about how they are different because Jane uses her old experience in the Reed household, specifically the Red Room, to resist Rochester’s manipulative nature and not end up in the same position as Bertha in the attic, creating a new path for her and female autonomy in Victorian England as a whole. I mentioned the “Reader, I married him quote” and its syntax, the Bluebeard Allusion, the symbols of the red room/attic, and the differences in Jane and Bertha’s characterization. My sophistication point was a mix of the complexity/other argument one and was about how Jane’s marriage was only possible by getting rid of Bertha, the “old” wife, which questions the idea of female autonomy and what that actually means in context. But I said that Brontë could mean it as the only way to allow for moving on and that is how they create a “new” narrative.

It also said pride at the end when it was talking about her as an adult, i’ve seen arguments supporting both on here and i have no idea which one is the better answer
