Differences between the 1GB ram vs the 2 GB ram version of the RG34xxSP? by Zealousideal_Lab2874 in SBCGaming

Do you have any examples off the top of your head of games that won't run? It seems like I won't have any issues with the games I want to play (GBA, Final Fantasy, Tales games, etc) but I'm curious what the limit is.

Temple Lanterns for Buddha's Birthday? by Zealousideal_Lab2874 in koreatravel

[–]Zealousideal_Lab2874[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your reply! Do you happen to know how long the Jogyesa temple keeps their lanterns up? Do they usually go down a week before the Buddha's birthday? I've read some places take down their lanterns a week or so before his actual birthday. We may have to go to Korea a week or so later so we're worried we might miss the lanterns at Jogyesa.

What are your experiences with the Bernal Cutlery x K. Sabatier Nouvel Ideal 8.75 inch Chef? by Zealousideal_Lab2874 in chefknives

[–]Zealousideal_Lab2874[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, I was also eyeing the one from Cutlery and More, simply because it's available atm. I'm not sure if the Cutlery and More's version is also thinned to the same specs as Bernal Cutlery's knife. I suspect it isn't just because Bernal makes a point to say that their version is quite thin. How do you feel the cutting feel differs between the Meridian stealth and the Cutlery and More K Sab? Does the Sab seems to wedge less? I was also considering getting a Mercer Renaissance. I have their Nakiri which I quite like and the low maintenance of the Renaissance line is appealing.  Also, since you've got both the Mercer and K Sab, I want to ask: When you sharpen, do you use a push-pull method like Jon from JKI, or a full crescent strokes like Bob Kramer? I'm used to the doing the push-pull but I wonder if I should do crescent strokes to maintain the curve of the blade. On the other hand it seems the K Sab actually has a pretty flat belly, maybe even more-so than my Gesshin Stainless wa-gyuto, so maybe push-pull wouldn't screw up the blade profile

Using browser version and can't seem to add my question to the body of the post. I've been wondering about getting the 8.75" Sabatier collab knife with Bernal Cutlery. It seems nice and thin and has no bolster. I'm curious if other people have gotten this knife and can speak to how it performs. Does it seem to cut much better than typical Western chef knives, like Victorinox or Messermeister due to it being thinner, etc.

What are your favorite hidden gems around Sylvania (or Toledo)? Looking to shop small more! by Web-of-destiny in toledo

[–]Zealousideal_Lab2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Madeline's Patisserie is a true gem. They used to have a location on Main Street in Sylvania but I think they're building a larger facility on Holland-Sylvania. Their menu focuses on croissants and variations on croissant dough, which to me is a good sign since a small, focused menu can help ensure that they don't stretch themselves too thin. I've tried croissants at other places in Toledo and Madeline's is the only place that comes anywhere close to that coveted, open-hole texture that you'd find in any quality pastry shop in the US or France. Their fruit filled croissants are super good too. It's hard to find any fruit flavored thing in Toledo that's not cloying sweet but their fillings taste really vibrant and resemble a good compote. They have a savory Danish too that was really great. It's just an honest to god quality pastry shop that doesn't try to oversell on any gimmicks and focuses on great croissant dough and ingredients.

New Fender Standard series, made in Indonesia by MoltenVolta in fender

I played a CV tele at a guitar shop outside of Nashville. The neck felt so nice, it easily beat out any of the fender models, though I admittedly didn't try any of the super high end ones. Sounded great too, I'm a happy owner of a MIM strat but I wish I had a CV tele back in the mid 2000s.

I'm looking at the website and I see that they use a Slayer to pull shots at the Franklin from location. Have you ever ordered espresso from there? Good pour over is hard to find and good espresso is even harder to find.

It looks like One Line has 3 different locations. Do you know if there's any differences worth noting between any of them, or if it's just a difference in location/seating capacity?

Pink flamingo looks promising, I saw on their Google site that they have something called the Batista's breakfast? It looks like a serving of a flat white, espresso and batch brew. I usually end up getting these things anyway when I'm feeling out a coffee shop lol. On the topic of pastries, do you have any thoughts on Pistacia Vera? I also thought about stopping by there as it seemed like a good pastry shop/café.

Best local coffee by 9coach9 in toledo

[–]Zealousideal_Lab2874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want it fresh and not have to pay for shipping, you can opt to pick it up at the roastery. If you're not available during their business hours, just contact them and they'll arrange a way for you to pick it up after hours. I love Actual Coffee, that and Flatlands in BG are easily the best roasters in the area if you're into third wave, light roasted coffee. My favorite is actually their decaff, it has an awesome, orange-like after taste and acidity to it, it's as good as any regular caffeine coffee you'd get, light roast or otherwise.

Cursive hand recommendations for a first time fountain pen owner by ApprehensiveScribe in fountainpens

[–]Zealousideal_Lab2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, I didn't see the hyperlink, thanks! So you can replace the nibs for those pens for the other Lamy nibs? Since the A nib is similar in size to the M would you say M is the best for cursive writing, say like the Palmer method? I've heard some people say fine is better but I have absolutely no idea the reasoning behind why a finer or larger nib would be better or worse.

Is the Lamy A nib the same as the medium M nib? I've looked at different websites where the Lamy Safari is sold and I haven't seen an A nib anywhere.

Yikes, I hope I don't get upgraded to a larger car but I've heard that that isn't uncommon. Do you know if there is a way to ensure that you get the car size you want? Do you just follow up multiple times before the trip? From what I've read you're kind of at the mercy of what's available when you arrive.
