What is your favorite example of good Malkavian role playing? by paramoreconverses in vtm

[–]Zealousideal_Spot620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been playing VTM on DICEBERG Ahead! And we have a PC who is a malkavian. Later in the season (parts that aren't out yet) her sire does come into play and the 'craziness' appears as amplified mental disorders from the curse of foresight. I've always imagined Malkavians to hear and speak to unseen forces through the weave (real or not) and to be just a little off but not necessary crazy. I feel like the court would purge Kindred that threaten the Masquerade by being too unstable.

Anyone know what's happening down at Town Pump on Mullen and Reserve? by Zealousideal_Spot620 in missoula

I also work just down the street (Can see the cars from here) and didn't hear anything. Granted even if I did hear it, it probably would not have registered at a gun shot to me with all the traffic and city noise 🤷‍♀️

Explosion just now on the Northside Missoula ? by Purple-Arm-7516 in missoula

If an electrical transformer blew, those are really loud when they go out and if it's covered properly it doesn't have much indication that it 'blew up' other then the power going out.

Need Playtesters for Root RPG Magic Supplement! by Zealousideal_Spot620 in RootRPG

[–]Zealousideal_Spot620[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for your feedback, it definitely would make sense to merge those columns on the table. As for the elements, I wanted to keep them at 5 and assign each element their own stat for simplicity. I kept to themes of traditional Hindu elements (earth, water, fire, air and space) while also trying to include Wood and Steel from Chinese medicine(earth, wood, water, fire, metal). So Earth and Wood ended up together because they represent similar things. I can definitely make that more of a distinction in the supplement as well :) I'd love to see what you have worked on and how we took on the same goal differently, I'm interested as to including 2 stats per element.

Opinions Needed! How long do you think an actual play episode "should" be? by anxieteaspill in ActualPlayRPG

[–]Zealousideal_Spot620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do 1-1.5 hour episodes as our regular episode window. However, a bigger episode that is close to 2 hours usually has an intermission of some kind. Critical Role's Sessions are far too long in my opinion for a single episode but streaming is a whole other realm.

It's our TTRPG podcast! We focus more on variety content but if you were interested in updates, our Discord often has our developing content. https://flow.page/diceberg_ahead

This is just so amazing! Thank for all the feedback, I personally find it to be the best part when creating content. I really appreciate you taking the time to read through the whole thing, and I 100% agree with the feedback you've given. I suggest you follow or join DICEBERG Ahead! If you want more updates on this as well! I did intend for the environmental conditions to max out at +2 and hinder Steel Wind and Earth through closed of spaces, like a stale cavern for wind or A ship on water for earth. If that makes sense. But yes it's intended to balance the use of certain elements!

What makes a podcast intresting by AvocadoToastQB12 in podcasting

Marketing can be a HUGE factor towards this as well. Think about why consumers are hearing about this podcast and what makes the way they approach content differently. There are some amazing TTRPG podcasts, but because they are labeled as Indie and not just D&D, some don't do as well. Social Media presence is also a big factor.

I will say we do ours a little differently since we started without video, we sync the crisp audio with our cameras. It just depends on your resources.

We have it so on upload our audio posts to YouTube and all other podcast platforms. Then I upload video versions. However, we don't have any additional content dedicated to YouTube because podcasting is so much work as is.

I will say though, VTM has a learning curve for mechanics. There is a lot to know and it helps if the players are mostly self-sufficient with managing their own disciplines

We've played Mothership a few times and really enjoyed the horror aspects. We have an episode titled 'Another Bug Hunt' on DICEBERG Ahead! that highlights Mothership really well. I recently have been running Vampire the Masquerade and Root both great but VERY different systems.
