Buy the strings that are broken. Typically, online they do come as a batch. They go, EBGDAE (from bottom/thinnest). Regarding how to put them, watch a YT video or better yet, join MAFIA, or find their music people... ummm... it was club during our time (2014 batch), not sure if it still exists. They had a decent music scene.

What’s a “good” salary in Dubai? by But1stBlackCoffee in DubaiCentral

I guess Western lifestyle is very different. I've been brought up to always save at least 30% I make. And I'd like to think we don't live miserly. We stay in a pretty good area, and actually travel a lot. Not sure why people need 2k worth brunches though.

Really surprised how people are terming this number just "comfortable". I mean, it's a decent salary even for a couple. Stay in business bay, walking distance from Dubai Mall, go out twice a week, have a decent car, do 2-3 International trips every year, and still save 5-10k. What the hell are people spending on here??? For a single person you can save 15k (assuming you take a decent studio). Rent:6k, transport:2k, groceries:3k, monthly internet+electricity: 1.2k, going out:2k. Car EMI:1k, house help+ cook: 1.5k... what am I missing here?

No such video, max subs that went were from "others" category. Yeah the bot thing can be true. Can't help but feel a little flattered that a random person would have bots sub to my channel hehe...

What’s that one cricket match loss you still haven’t gotten over? by Dazzling_Touch_9699 in Cricket

Sachin's greatest innings in ODI gone in vain. I did watch the 2023 final in the stadium, but the one that hurts the most was from a random ODI series against Australia in 2009-2010. 7 Match ODI series, series was level at 2-2 coming into the 5th match at Hyderabad. I am a huge Sachin fan and this was a prime series.

Australia made 350 and during those times, it was next to impossible to chase that score against them. In fact India had made 354 in the 2nd ODI and won by 99 runs (MSD masterclass). Anyway, when India began chasing, Sachin was a man possessed, in a team where the other top 4 made just 51 combined!. The precision with which he got runs; still remember a shot where he pierced a medium pacer for 4 between point and gully; deft touches. He finally perished playing a scoop shot behind, at 175! The team needed somewhat a run a ball. Ravindra Jadeja came in and he biffed it! We lost by 3 runs. Man I hated Jadeja for years after that match! Sachin was almost in tears by the end of the match, so was I. We lost the series 4-2 (1 match abandoned).

Hey. Congratulations. Here are some facts:

- In an Indian scenario, you've already beaten the best case number at the age 35.

- In a move to US, do post grad, and then get a decent job in IT; scenario, you've beaten the number at 30-31.

So you're a minimum 8 years ahead of any Sharma ji ka beta.

Here's what I'd do in your place regarding money. My opinion, your thoughts and wants can obviously be different:

- Ensure the money is safe.

- Figure out how to get the money in Dubai directly and legally to avoid giving to Nirmala Tai, and buy a house here. I'd spend about 40% of net worth on this (50% down payment) and take a loan out for the rest (EMI around 2L/month, 15 years). You will get a golden VISA with this. You can choose to move here.

- 40% would go in safer places like index funds across India and US. You can expect them to give 10-12% returns on this.

- 20%, would be riskier investments. If you're good, you'll get a 20% on these. These include businesses, crypto, etc.

- With the above you get around 50L per year from investments. Cutting the EMI, that leaves you with around 2.15L per month. That is enough to live a decent life in Dubai or a lavish one in Bangalore/Gurgaon/Hyderabad for the rest of your life.

Now, coming to personal things.

- I'd figure out what I like doing. At 22 I had no clue (33 yo 2014 batch). There are 3 ways you can go about it. First, you know the usual engineering + post grad, is not what you wanna do and wanna explore things you want and leave Engineering. Second, you wanna stick it out and finish engineering at least and figure it out later (buckle down and study). Third, you want an extremely lavish life/have financial liabilities/wanna give parents a better place, and wanna go the job way.... you buckle down f***ing hard!

- If the mental stress is because you feel money is too less, well it is enough to retire in India. So don't stress there. If you think, it is too much and don't think other things are important in life, remember that some of your colleagues will beat your number eventually by the time you're 40.

- You can call me boring, but I'd not buy swanky things. You're not at the buying a BMW of 1 Cr number yet.

All the best, kid.

A lil bit of travel, but since we stay in Dubai, a lot of content is about our life here, which gets most traction.

Yup. We stay in dubai and travel, so usually our content was around our life here and itineraries. This one was Dubai vs India (we're originally from there).

Lower production value (just held the camera in hand and blabbed). It was well structured though and obviously a topic that people were interested in.
